LMFT, 11 years of experience
My name is Lourdes Medina and am bilingual Spanish Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I was born in Mexico in the beautiful state of Jalisco and migrated to the US at age of 12 after a life changing event. I am passionate about helping BIPOC (Black, Indigenous and People of Color) individuals at different phases of life, break cycles associated with generational trauma and unhealthy patterns, in order to find their voice, set boundaries and develop a better version of themselves. I am currently taking new patients, have available times evenings and weekends If you are interested in a free consultation, to discuss if I can assist you in your healing and wellness journey and see if we would be a good fit please don’t hesitate to contact me. We can set up a 20 min phone call or video
Seeking therapy is not always easy, from our treatment together you can expect a safe and non-judge mental space for processing your thoughts and emotions. A space in which you can learn about yourself and the why of your actions/reactions.
Most importantly I take a collaborative stance. I provide support and guidance and realize that you are the expert of you. In the mental health world I am very much client centered and also utilize cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy and mindfulness type of skills to support my patients.
Supportive others understand and break cycles of generational trauma is part of what I do. My job is done when I am able to support individuals break these cycles and develop the version of themselves in which they can thrive even amongst life challenges.
