My name is Cindy Kropp. I am a licensed clinical social worker who specializes in providing compassionate, trauma-informed, mental health care for individuals seeking a more balanced and emotionally healthy way of living.
I am trained to provide individual therapy for older teens, young adults and seniors trying to navigate through their own stressors and discomfort related to depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, life transitions and alcohol misuse and abuse.
Utilizing a strength-based and relational approach, and with a trauma-informed lens, a solid and client centered foundation is built between the client and I as the therapeutic process unfolds. From there, I work collaboratively with individuals to set goals while also exploring her/his own thoughts and feelings as related to the challenges and struggles in their own lives.
This work is achieved through the integration of cognitive behavioral therapy strategies, narrative therapy and mindfulness-based stress reduction techniques. As we work through this therapeutic process together, clients are able to identify how their own hopes and dreams of living a more peaceful, happy and abundant life can become a reality.
I believe all individuals have worth and value and need to have an opportunity to make life what they have always imagined!

As a therapist—and as someone living with Type 1 diabetes—I understand firsthand the emotional, psychological, and relational toll that chronic illness can take. Managing a lifelong condition doesn’t just affect the body; it can impact your identity, relationships, and emotional well-being. I have an LPC and an LMFT and have been seeing clients since 1996. I have extensive training in helping people who are going through or have experienced narcissistic abuse and any form of childhood trauma, this includes verbal and emotional abuse, family addictions, or any early childhood experience that would cause one to feel unsafe. I am also experienced in the treatment of anxiety, worry and mood concerns and work with addictions, obsessive compulsive behaviors and any poor coping skills or core beliefs that were developed in order to manage these stressors. I use practices primarily focused on somatic and cognitive therapy but also utilize acceptance commitment therapy, internal family systems, mindfulness and am solution focused. I use homework and assignments aimed at regulating the nervous system in order to repair the fight/flight/freeze response that is often stuck on due to a continuous history of a variety of life stressors (trauma). This trapped and stored trauma continues to trigger the nervous system to respond in ways where we continue to feel unsafe, even after the threats have passed. By working with the nervous system to release this trapped trauma and find safety, we can then have the opportunity to respond to the world differently.

Psychotherapy is a space where you can slow down, reflect, and begin to experience yourself in a setting that elucidates the structure of your thinking.
Our conversations will focus on how you relate to your thoughts, feelings, body and the people around you as well as to the broader world. By bringing a spoken awareness to these experiences, we can begin to uncover new possibilities and directions, especially as my education and experience has sharpened my ear to listen to how your thinking is structured. My goal is to support you as you gain greater freedom to choose how you respond to life and how you move forward according to your desire.

My background is in progressive Christianity, while remaining open and respectful of all spiritual paths.
