Let's deep dive into your childhood to determine where those negative thoughts started, prove those beliefs are wrong and rebuild your new thought process while learning new coping skills. Let's focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Let's figure out how to get where you want to be i life, together.
My name is Christen Yassin and I have been in this field for 18 years. I have a wealth of experience and love to help people become their best selves. I am a great listener. A great listener requires you to not only listen but to be able to output a great solution to the problem and to be highly empathetic to the issue; that's one of my strengths. I also have a lot of experience in family therapy and working with children and young adults.
Hi, I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been in the field since 2008.
I wholeheartedly believe that every person can recover from any challenge if they have the right support.
For my clients, I try to be that right support.
My approach is person-centered, embracing you for who you are and supportively walking along with you in your treatment journey!
Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.
I'm Shekhina, a Multiracial/Biracial Messianic Jewish Believer in Yeshua (Jesus) as my Lord and Savior, in addition to a faith-based Psychotherapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed Behavioral Consultant based out of Philadelphia, PA. I hold an MS from Grand Canyon University and have over 25 years of experience in counseling. I have owned and founded The Counselor's Heart Therapeutic Services since 2019. My mission is to help individuals grow in their relationship with Yeshua (Jesus), identify the root of dysfunctional behavior, and break the cycle of sin, toxic patterns, and intergenerational trauma/generational curses. People often "move forward with time, but never move on," meaning they move on with time but never move on from past hurts. I aim to help clients move forward to live productive and healthy lives, guided by their faith in God, and free from the burden of past trauma.
I help people improve their ability to cope with life by utilizing behavioral tools that foster personal change and growth. I focus on fostering a positive, non-judgmental environment while building trust. I build positive connections with my clients- sometimes through humor and laughter, other times through empathy and compassion. I tend to be more solution focused while assisting clients on maximizing the use of self. As a person who has worked in health care for several years I am able to assist clients in the utilization of community resource in order to achieve their optimal level of wellness.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 18 years of clinical experience—and more than 20 years in leadership and behavioral health programming—I’m deeply committed to helping individuals, couples, and families connect, heal, and thrive. I offer personalized, evidence-based counseling services for people facing a wide range of life challenges, from anxiety, depression, and trauma to relationship issues, identity exploration, and performance struggles.
I specialize in empowering clients across the lifespan, drawing on Reality Therapy and other client-centered approaches to help you take control of your life, reconnect with what matters most, and make meaningful, lasting change. Whether you’re seeking support through a difficult transition or ready to overcome long-standing obstacles, I provide a warm, collaborative space to clarify your goals and build the tools to achieve them.
I approach therapy as a relational process, not a place where you come to be fixed. You’re not a problem to solve; you’re a person with a history, patterns that make sense, and a way of being in the world that developed for a reason. In our work together, we slow things down and get curious about what’s underneath the surface. I’m interested in who you are, not just what’s wrong. My goal is to create a space that feels real, thoughtful, and nonjudgmental, where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply and move toward something that feels more connected and meaningful.
Welcome!
Congratulations on taking the courageous first step of seeking out a therapist. It is an act of bravery and courage to explore what is impacting you or your child. Hi! I'm Dr. Laurel Buxbaum, a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Pennsylvania since 1989. I have a background in cognitive neuropsychology and extensive experience helping people with stress, anxiety, depression, career, family, and relationship issues. By combining Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with many other different approaches, as needed, in a warm and supportive atmosphere, I can offer clients a number of strategies for success and growth.
I am licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) committed to helping people heal and grow from their past and live an authentic life. I help clients navigate life transitions: college/young adulthood, becoming caregivers for parents, perimenopause/menopause, and coming to terms with late-diagnosed neurodivergence. I am especially passionate about helping people navigate relationships with emotionally immature parents and adults. In addition to clinical work, I also have a background in higher education and career counseling.
I started my career in human services at Northeast Treatment Centers in Philadelphia, PA where, over the course of 7 years, I worked as Youth Advocate for adjudicated adolescents, lead clinician for a community-based treatment team and outpatient therapist. After becoming a licensed psychotherapist in 2014, I worked as an outpatient therapist for multiple companies in the Philadelphia area where I helped clients manage or overcome symptoms related to anxiety, stress, trauma, depression and more.
My therapeutic approach is strongly rooted in humanistic psychology. As described in an article from the Association for Humanistic Psychology, this approach offers a "crucial opportunity to lead our troubled culture back to its own healthy path. More than any other therapy, Humanistic-Existential therapy models democracy. It imposes ideologies of others upon the client less than other therapeutic practices. Freedom to choose is maximized. We validate our client's human potential."
Hi! My name is Samantha. I am a licensed counselor in the state of Pennsylvania. I focus on building relationships with my clients to help them reach their goals. My approach includes therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Prolonged Exposure, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narriative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. I'm always looking to expand my approach to best support my clients. My experience has been with community mental heath, two CIRC programs, and providing short term grief therapy at the Medical Examiner's office. Each of these have provided me with greater understanding of the system of care of Philadelphia and the reality of navigating it especially when resources can be nonexistent for housing or other basic needs. My specialities in grief and trauma are two sides of the same coin - intense loss can be traumatic. This philosophy is central to how I approach supporting clients in their journey. Both need to be address to help the healing really start.
