Hi, I’m Dave! I am passionate about helping adults with ADHD, anxiety, & depression learn to lead more fulfilling lives. I know first-hand how it feels to live with these conditions, which means I can help you learn realistic and attainable ways to improve your quality of life. I offer sincere empathy for your situation while also helping you challenge yourself to make improvements in your day-to-day living.
While simply talking about your problems can help decrease the intensity of your anxiety and depression in many circumstances, what’s even more helpful is to learn about how your mind works and how to handle tough issues when they come up. I'll help you learn about the connection between your thoughts and feelings, & how this can have such a strong impact on your happiness in life.
Given my own experience with ADHD, anxiety, & depression, I truly understand many of the thoughts and feelings you may be having with these conditions and I know how much of a challenge it can be. But life doesn't have to feel like a constant struggle. Contact me to learn about how you can go from "just surviving" to actually thriving!

You are a woman who has been devastated by grief over pregnancy loss, infertility, or postpartum depression and anxiety. You desperately want to find someone to talk to about how alone and sad you feel. You feel heartbroken, ashamed, and angry lately. Your world has stopped while everyone else seems to be living their best life. You find yourself having the same fights with your partner over and over again. Society glamorizes pregnancy and motherhood which can make you feel even more alone and misunderstood. If you see one more pregnancy announcement or social media post about the happiness of motherhood, you might lose it!
Your baby is important to you no matter how much time you have spent with them. You want to learn how to keep your baby’s memory alive. You want to learn how to experience happiness during this new transition to motherhood. You want to feel heard by someone without shame or judgment. You are not alone. As a woman, I have been there.

Fearful of being misunderstood, judged or like "it" may not work may be the negative thoughts that have developed during such a devastating loss.
Think about getting back to doing the things that you once loved. Think about learning to live the best life that you imagined you could. Think about feeling better about yourself. Together you and I can work to get a better understanding of your loss and create a positive path to growth and healing.

Welcome!
I'm glad that you are showing an interest in your own or a family member's emotional and mental well being. I'm Becky Hunt, though the official name is Rebecca. I have been working with children and families since 2004. I have provided many different kinds of case management and therapeutic services in my social work career.
I believe that wellness includes many factors of a person's life--mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual health. Some of those things in your life might be in balance while other areas are not. You probably already have the ability to manage many situation or challenges with a combination of existing strengths and learned skills; we can add to those together.
My work-joy is found in play therapy. Through play therapy child, families, and (yes!) adults can work through many issues in their lives. The best part is all the hard work doesn't feel like work, it feels like play. We learn skills by playing throughout our entire lives beginning with playing peek-a-boo; on the grade school play ground; sports and backyard games; as well as board games and card games with friends.
If playing isn't for you, I also provide the traditional "talk therapy" that most people are familiar. I received a specialization in Military Social Work during my master’s program at USC and have a passion for working with those, both children and adults, who have experienced trauma. Trauma can show up in a lot of different ways and look like many things. We can work together to sort that out. In counseling, we can use a combination of CBT, solution focused, and problem-solving therapy, along with Motivational Interviewing, trauma therapies, and (yes even) Play Therapy when appropriate. Your individualized plan, developed in your words, will be a great road map for reaching your desired destination. I would be honored to walk with you along that path.
Seeking help reflects the courage and drive that you already have within you. Let's get started!

I am an experienced therapist, licensed in Maryland, Missouri, Ohio, and Kansas. I will be your partner and tailor our sessions and plan to meet your unique and specific needs. I practice a type of therapy that aims to help clients accept what is out of their control, and commit instead to actions that enrich their lives. Our goal is to help you create a rich and meaningful life.
I have specialized experience in several areas including depression, anxiety, stress, grief and loss, relationship, and career/workplace issues. I am also successful in working with individuals who are struggling with behavioral contributors to insomnia, chronic pain, diabetes, and other chronic medical conditions. I have been described as supportive, direct, caring, and compassionate, with a good sense of humor. I like to focus on identifying your strengths and helping you maximize them.
