Hello! My name is Hannah, and I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker, with a master's degree in social work. I graduated from the University of Alabama in 2022 before relocating back to Columbus, Ohio. Since returning, I have served as a therapist in a community-based agency. While in this role, I developed a specialty in navigating challenges related to trauma, anxiety, depression, and life transitions. I have a deep understanding of the systemic barriers impacting mental and physical health, serving as an advocate for increased access to quality care. My approach is holistic and client-centered. I am passionate about empowering individuals to build resilience and develop coping strategies that improve overall well-being. I am committed to creating a safe, inclusive space for clients from all backgrounds, as well as fostering trust to assist them in meeting personal goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I hope to begin building the trust and mutual respect needed for a successful therapeutic alliance. If you completed your intake assessment, I will review this with you and ask follow-up questions to get a better idea of what you are looking for in therapy. If not, no worries, we can go through the process together! There will also be space for you to ask whatever questions you would like. Even a small step is better than no step at all, and our initial appointment will be that first step towards growth.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My work is rooted in a holistic approach that focuses on mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being to establish overall wellness. In prioritizing holistic, compassionate, care, I believe that I have developed a skill for assisting my clients to feel at ease and trust the therapeutic process. I am passionate about developing an individualized therapeutic process, rooted in sustainable growth, and am consistently proud of the outcome.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with someone who is ready to navigate their experiences, regardless of what shape that journey might take. Each individual's therapeutic process looks different, and I appreciate the vulnerability it takes to look inward and reflect. I draw from a variety of therapeutic approaches and tailor my work to meet your unique needs. My goal is to support you in identifying your strengths and developing a deeper understanding of yourself. My approach to therapy is collaborative and compassionate. I believe that you are the expert of your life, and my role is to offer guidance, tools, and new perspectives. Whether this is your first time considering therapy or you're returning to the process, I welcome the opportunity to connect with you.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

Throughout my career, I have utilized a strength-based approach to assist clients in identifying and establishing their goals, rooted in their own individualized beliefs and values. It is important that you work at a pace that is comfortable and sustainable, and in order to accomplish these goals, you must first explore the strengths that will get you there. Assisting clients in this self-exploration is a vital part of my work.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

A large part of my work is assisting clients in addressing not only the mental but also the physical side of their emotions. Mindfulness-Based Therapy gives us the opportunity to develop helpful coping skills that connect the mind and body, as well as ground us in the present. This method is especially useful for individuals struggling with dissociation and panic attacks.

Motivational Interviewing

It is important to start where you are as the client. Motivational Interviewing is the foundation I utilize to assess motivation and readiness for change. This treatment method gives me the opportunity to begin exploring your goals, without pushing too far.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy will serve as an umbrella for the work we do in identifying, processing, and reframing automatic thoughts. I will often take clients through the process of diving into the thoughts behind their emotions to explore root causes to ongoing behaviors. This method will become more specialized depending on the needs of my client.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

Behavioral modification can be a significant help in addressing problematic and repetitive behaviors. I utilize tenets of DBT in my work to assist in building the skills required to address the client's physical actions in addition to their thoughts and feelings.
