You may be struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship challenges, or a major life transition that feels difficult to manage on your own. My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and non-judgmental space where you can openly explore your experiences, gain clarity, and begin moving toward healing and growth. My approach to therapy is compassionate, collaborative, and practical. Together, we focus on building resilience, strengthening self-awareness, and creating healthier ways to navigate life’s challenges. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse cultural, social, and professional backgrounds. I am committed to providing culturally sensitive care and creating an environment where every client feels respected, valued, and understood. Thank you for taking the time to take a look at my profile! Therapy should be uniquely tailored to each person. I work with clients to identify patterns of behavior that may have contributed to difficulties in relationships—with family, friends, or at work or school—and help find ways to create positive change. We learn to change our perspective on life, our past, our entire reality, and recognize that we really can control how we think and what we think about. One of the primary purposes of coming to therapy is to be heard. I am here to listen and work with you to come up with a solution to the problem or issues you may be having. I've worked with many clients coping with anxiety and depression, in particular, which has led to the development of a different approach that combines parts of a few different proven techniques. This approach is designed to change your perspective on your mental illness and learn new ways to cope, adjust, and adapt. We work together to find what practical exercises you can use to better manage out of control emotions when they arise.

Over the years, I have expanded my work to include diverse populations and settings. I served as a Nurse Navigator at one of the largest cancer hospitals in South Florida, providing counseling and advocacy for oncology patients and their families. I have also worked with adults in inpatient rehabilitation for substance use treatment, facilitated care for court-ordered clients, and supported outpatient clients within the LGBTQ+ community. I draw from multiple evidence-based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Psychodynamic Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and individualized treatment planning. Hi there, my name’s Ephraim Tokar. I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with 20+ years of experience. My specialties consist of relationships, men’s issues, career counseling, and psychosomatic illnesses. I received my Bachelors degree in Child Psychology, working initially with the adolescent population before transitioning over to adults. I then received my Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy. Whether it's individuals or couples, I'm happy to get to work with whomever comes my way. I do my best to facilitate a warm, trusting environment. Looking forward to meeting with you soon!
