You may look like you’re holding it all together on the outside while feeling overwhelmed, emotionally exhausted, disconnected, or stuck internally. Many of my clients are high-achieving adults, athletes, young professionals, and adolescents navigating anxiety, ADHD, trauma, burnout, addiction recovery, identity shifts, and relationship stress. As a former Division I athlete and immigrant, I understand the pressure of performance, major life transitions, and the challenge of balancing expectations while trying to stay connected to yourself. Therapy with me is honest, collaborative, and focused on meaningful change, not just surface-level coping. I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, trauma-informed care, somatic approaches, and relapse prevention strategies to help clients build emotional regulation, healthier patterns, resilience, and long-term healing. I work with adolescents, young adults, and adults from diverse backgrounds and strive to create a space that feels supportive, culturally aware, and judgment-free. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, perfectionism, recovery, trauma, or simply feeling emotionally stuck, we’ll work together to better understand your patterns and create practical, sustainable change. Healing is not about becoming someone different it’s about reconnecting with yourself in a healthier, more grounded way.

I believe that everyone has value and is worthy of love, kindness and compassion. I provide evidence-based, culturally responsive psychotherapy services that honor the diversity of identities and experiences of individuals I work with. There is often a story behind the person who walks through the door of therapy. For first responders, that story can include experiences that are difficult to put into words—moments of intense responsibility, loss, fear, or trauma that stay with you long after the shift ends. When you spend your career being the person others rely on, there may not always be much room to process what you have experienced yourself. Over time, that can show up as stress, frustration, emotional disconnection, difficulty being present with the people you love, or simply feeling unlike yourself. As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), I am passionate about working with first responders who are ready to understand what they have been carrying and begin creating meaningful change. I believe that what happened to you is part of your story, but it does not have to define the rest of it. My approach is compassionate, collaborative, and focused on helping you move forward in a way that feels meaningful to you. I use Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients process difficult experiences, recognize the strengths they already possess, and develop practical tools for navigating what comes next. Therapy is not about erasing your experiences or pretending they did not happen. It is about creating space to work through what has been holding you back, reconnect with what matters most, and make room for the life you want to live. You have spent a lot of time showing up for others. Therapy can be a place where you get to show up for yourself.

Hello, dear one, and welcome. I'm so glad you're here. Through my private practice Roots to Rise, I work with those who feel everything: the ones who need more recovery time than everyone around them, who've been called "too sensitive" or "too much." You're not too much. Your nervous system is doing what it was built to do. Many people come to me with anxiety that won't quiet down, depression that's settled in like fog, trauma that keeps showing up in the body, exhaustion that doesn't lift no matter how much they rest, or the kind of burnout that happens when they've been rewarded for ignoring their own needs for too long. For some, it's meant holding everything together: the high achiever, the one everyone calls for advice, the one who looks fine while running on empty. For others, it's meant leaving a faith that no longer fits, questioning who taught them to distrust their body and intuition, or untangling the belief that they must earn their rest, prove their worth, or make themselves small to keep others comfortable. My approach moves through grounding, witnessing, processing, reclaiming, and integrating, drawing on narrative and somatic work, IFS, ACT, DBT/CBT, and mindfulness. Rather than following one fixed protocol, we let your history, relationships, pace, and goals shape the mix. We work with more than your thoughts. Your body remembers what your mind has tried to outrun, so we pay attention to both. When I'm not in session, you'll usually find me outside. I'm a Colorado native who feels most like myself in the mountains, with my hands in the garden, or out wildcrafting. On quieter days, I'm inside crafting, or curled up with a book I can't put down. That same groundedness is what I bring into the room with you.

My approach is warm, direct, practical, and very human. Hi! I am Laura and I provide a compassionate, supportive space for individuals navigating life’s challenges, trauma, or anxiety. I work with clients who want to better understand themselves, manage overwhelming emotions, and develop practical strategies for coping and growth. My approach is collaborative and tailored to each person’s experiences. I prioritize creating a safe, nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore feelings at their own pace. Many of the people I work with feel stuck or uncertain about how past experiences affect their present lives. I help them build insight, self-compassion, and resilience while guiding them toward their personal goals. While my focus is on individual work, I also address the impact of relationships on well-being, helping clients navigate interpersonal challenges when they arise. I support clients in strengthening emotional awareness, identifying unhelpful patterns, and developing tools to respond to life’s stressors more effectively. I am drawn to clients who are curious about their inner world and ready to take steps toward meaningful change, even when it feels challenging. My goal is to walk alongside each client with warmth, respect, and understanding, empowering them to feel more confident in themselves and their choices. I'm fascinated by human existence. What you say, what you mean, what you've been through, how you've survived it, and how you're still standing. I pay attention to the details, the patterns, the stories you tell yourself, and the things you wish other people understood about you. I know what it feels like to feel unseen, overlooked, stuck, anxious, hopeless. I don't have life figured out, but I’ve spent years learning to sit with uncertainty, have hard conversations, and navigate the messy realities of being human. I won’t promise to heal you or have all the answers, but I will promise that I'm committed to helping you better understand yourself. I'm an out-of-the-box therapist. I bring passion, humor, authenticity, and insight.

I am a Licensed Professional Counselor and Licensed Addictions Counselor in the state of Colorado. I received my Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from the University of Denver in 2017. After completing my Master’s Degree, I spent almost six years working with criminal justice involved clients - from substance abuse to domestic violence offenders. While I learned a lot doing that work, and it was extremely fulfilling to service victims and offenders, I decided to pursue working for myself within the private practice setting. I primarily utilize Cognitive Behavioral and Dialectical Behavioral techniques in my sessions, as well as being trained in Brainspotting for trauma specific treatment. I strongly believe in the connection between physical health and mental health, and do my best to focus on both aspects with the clients I see. I feel fortunate to be able to hear and share in other's stories and be a part of their journey to wellness.

I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor trained and grounded between cultures—I'm Brazilian, based in Fort Collins with deep ties to Brazil, and I've built my practice around understanding the complexity of living across worlds. I work with adolescents and adults in English, Portuguese, and Spanish, which means I can meet you in the language and cultural context where you're most yourself. My approach is warm and collaborative, but I won't shy away from gently pushing back when I see you selling yourself short or staying stuck in patterns that aren't serving you. Therapy with me means honest reflection—about your relationships, your anxieties, your life transitions, whatever brought you here. I specialize in working through anxiety, depression, grief, stress, and relationship challenges, and I bring my own experience navigating between identities and expectations to that work. With over 5 years of counseling experience—including years as a school counselor and now running my own telehealth practice—I've learned that the best therapy happens when you feel truly seen and genuinely challenged to grow. I offer secure, confidential sessions so you can work with someone who understands your full story, cultural context and all.

I am a therapist that enjoys using client centered strategies to help clients better understand themselves and how they exist in the world around them. When I look at my journey through life, I have found that some of the greatest changes I have made were through conversations with others who helped me to see the world from a lens of choice. I have learned over the years that choice relates to actions, that in turn influence dynamics of empowerment and advocacy. Empowerment, advocacy, and perseverance are terms easy to grasp by definition, but much more difficult to follow through with in our day to day experiences. I believe that healing and growth really begin to set in when decisions are made to accept the current reality of ones life and then further commit to strategically apply necessary changes. Over time, I have noticed that therapy often can help people (myself included) gain a greater sense of self efficacy and self confidence, especially when we learn how powerful our thoughts and actions can be! In other words, it is ok if there are things happening in our day that we would rather not go through, however we also have a choice in how we respond in that day. I value the importance of a healthy and healing therapeutic relationship! I also value the process of exploring how trust and hope participate towards how we experience the world.

I am also certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Crisis Prevention Intervention, and serve as a Crisis Intervention Trainer. My journey in mental health has equipped me with the skills to support diverse populations dealing with complex issues such as trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, self-care, relational issues, family issues, parenting, goal achievement, and persistent mental illness. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of working as a child protection therapist assisting families in the judicial system, and as a mobile crisis clinician and crisis program supervisor throughout rural Colorado. In my private practice, I've worked with adolescents, adults, couples, and families, utilizing an eclectic style of therapy that blends life experience with established theory. My approach is rooted in creating a safe, respectful, and dignified environment where you can feel supported while being encouraged and challenged to grow toward your goals. I have a strong passion for mental health and helping others. My goal is to provide an environment characterized by safety, respect, dignity, and support while also encouraging and challenging people to keep growing toward their goals. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, life transitions, or need support as a military veteran, I'm here to help. If you're ready to take the next step in your journey, I invite you to reach out. Together, we can work towards achieving your goals and improving your well-being.

My passion for this work spans over 6 years in the mental health and substance abuse field, and it is deeply rooted in my own personal journey with addiction and mental health recovery. This lived experience gives me a deeply empathetic, real-world perspective on the hurdles you face. I am living proof that everyone deserves quality mental health support, and that it is entirely possible to discover vital, healthy new ways of living. I work best with adult clients who are ready to navigate complex situations, find clarity, and transition into a healthier, more peaceful lifestyle. I have worked with many different types of clients, including those with addiction issues, and mental health issues ranging from anxiety to schizophrenia. In our sessions, you can expect a warm, accepting, and non-judgmental environment. I am a direct and collaborative therapist. I don’t just sit back and nod—I am an active participant in your healing journey. My therapeutic approach intentionally blends practical tool building with deep, compassionate reflection so you leave with real-world strategies. Additionally, for clients who are looking to process deeper history, I provide trauma-informed therapy through EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing). Taking that first step toward therapy can feel daunting, but you deserve a space where you feel truly seen, heard, and supported.

I believe that every person has the capacity for growth, healing, and meaningful change. My role as a therapist is to provide a supportive, collaborative space where you can better understand yourself, navigate life's challenges, and move toward the life you want to create. I work with individual adults in Colorado and Hawaii who are experiencing life transitions, anxiety, depression, grief, relationship changes, infertility, career decisions, stress, or simply feeling stuck. Sometimes clients come to therapy because of a specific event, while others have a general sense that something isn't working anymore. Wherever you're starting, we'll work together to identify your strengths, understand the patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and develop practical tools for lasting change. My approach combines evidence-based psychotherapy with a whole-person perspective. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Narrative Therapy, mindfulness, and person-centered counseling while tailoring each session to your individual needs and goals. I believe emotional wellness is influenced by every part of our lives, and therapy should honor the unique experiences, values, and strengths that each person brings into the room. Whether you're looking for support through a difficult season or seeking greater purpose, balance, and fulfillment, I strive to create a space where you feel heard, respected, and empowered.

Do you often see patterns in your life that you would like to change ,yet still repeat them? Counseling sessions will provide the support and guidance to understand and release emotions that keep you stuck. Relationships are key, whether it be your relationship with yourself, your partner, family member or friends, you will be able to develop self awareness and understanding of the influence of family culture and dynamics. Over 30 years as a therapist, I have worked in a variety of settings , with a wide spectrum of ages and cultures . This experience has deepened my respect for each individual's journey and the influence of their family beliefs. I help clients to acknowledge these beliefs and gradually transform and expand them to enhance rather than limit their lives. I have enjoyed working with children and adolescents and bring this experience with me , yet I am currently working primarily with adults which includes a special enjoyment to help couples to successfully transform limiting patterns and develop clear communication and listening skills. I have learned so much about life transitions through my work with trauma, hospice, death and dying, treatment foster care, eating disorders and liaison work with educational and community. These experience have strengthen my belief in human resiliency. All of the sessions are remote and I provide a phone call prior to beginning sessions where you will be able to ask questions to see if we are a good "fit" to work together.

It can feel like addiction is writing your story, but it doesn't have to! We all have the strength to learn how to work with our brain and not let it have all the control. My goal is to help you hone the skills needed to find that strength and to help begin writing the story of the life that you have always envisioned for yourself. Using skills from DBT, Attachment Theory, Nervous System Training, and Solution Focused therapy I make it my goal to help people navigate the stressors that come with life whether big or small. My specialties include, but are not limited to: substance use, anxiety, depression, grief, self-esteem, and trauma.

If you've been feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or like you're carrying the weight of everything on your own, you're not alone. I work with adults navigating anxiety, burnout, depression, relationship stress, and major life transitions. My goal is to provide a supportive, thoughtful space where you can slow down, gain clarity, and begin making changes that help you feel more confident in yourself and your relationships. Together, we'll work to better understand the patterns behind what you're experiencing. We'll explore what fuels overthinking, people-pleasing, conflict, or emotional shutdown while building practical tools for boundaries, communication, and managing difficult emotions. My approach combines insight and self-understanding with practical strategies, so you leave therapy with both a deeper understanding of yourself and tools you can use in everyday life.
