New to Grow
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor specializing in substance abuse. For the past three years, I have helped adult individuals heal from mental health and substance abuse issues, utilizing a multifaceted approach to have therapy meet your individual needs. I have training in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Addictions Counseling, and trauma. I have experience in depression, anxiety, addictions, relationship conflicts, trauma, and abuse. I see therapy as a collaborative process to guide you to greater self-awareness, trust, and sense of meaning. My approach focuses on self-love, learning how to heal through traumatic and difficult experiences to find strength and resilience. I use an interpersonal, non-judgmental approach to provide you with the foundation to create a stable and sustainable life. My goal is to help empower you to manage difficult emotions, find purpose and passion, in order for you to live a life aligned with your personal goals. If you are feeling stuck in your relationship, in your interpersonal life, let’s work together to help you heal and find the answers you are searching for.
In our first session, you can expect a welcoming and supportive space where you can share as much or as little as you feel comfortable. I’ll invite you to talk about what brings you to therapy, your goals, and any questions or concerns you may have, while also explaining how I work. My focus will be on getting to know you as a whole person and beginning to build a genuine, trusting relationship. There’s no pressure to have everything figured out—this is your space, and we will move at a pace that feels right for you.
My greatest strengths lie in creating a warm, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen, heard, and accepted. I bring a balance of empathy and practical skill-building, helping clients not only process their experiences but also develop tools they can use in everyday life. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, allowing each person to feel empowered while still receiving guidance and support. Clients often find that this combination helps them build self-awareness, emotional resilience, and meaningful, lasting change.
My ideal client is someone who is motivated for change and ready to actively engage in the therapeutic process. I work best with individuals who have experienced trauma and are seeking support in managing anxiety and PTSD symptoms. These clients are often open to self-exploration and developing practical skills to better understand and regulate their emotions. Together, we focus on building resilience, processing past experiences, and creating a greater sense of safety and stability in their daily lives.
Person-centered (Rogerian)
In my private practice, I use a person-centered approach by creating a supportive, nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences. I emphasize empathy, authenticity, and unconditional positive regard to build a strong therapeutic relationship. Rather than directing sessions, I trust clients to lead and discover their own insights. This approach supports clients in developing self-awareness, confidence, and meaningful change.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
In my private practice, I use a Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) approach to help clients build practical skills for managing emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships. I balance acceptance and change by validating clients’ experiences while also encouraging growth and behavioral shifts. I incorporate structured skill-building in areas such as mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness. This approach helps clients develop tools to navigate challenges more effectively and create a life worth living.
