New to Grow
I earned my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from John F. Kennedy University and am a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with over 15 years of experience. In my current practice, I work with older adolescents through all stages of adulthood. My style is relaxed and approachable, and I’m often described as a compassionate listener who offers thoughtful guidance and support. I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where you can openly share your thoughts and feelings while working toward meaningful growth and change.
In our first session, we’ll take time to get to know each other and begin building a comfortable, trusting relationship. This initial meeting is focused on understanding what brings you to therapy and exploring your goals. From there, I’ll work with you to develop a personalized plan that supports your needs and helps you move toward meaningful progress.
What sets me apart is my ability to create a space where people feel truly safe, comfortable, and understood. My clients often share that they feel genuinely heard, sometimes for the first time. I’ve had the privilege of supporting clients as they move from feeling unsure or disconnected from their emotions to gaining clarity, confidence, and the ability to advocate for themselves and navigate challenging situations with greater ease.
My ideal clients are older adolescents and adults who have reached a point where their usual ways of coping are no longer effective. They are motivated to make meaningful changes in their lives and are seeking greater peace, balance, and contentment. Many may be experiencing challenges related to Depression, Anxiety Disorders, or unresolved early childhood trauma. I also work with individuals who struggle with food-related concerns, including disordered eating or eating disorders, and are ready to move toward healing and a healthier relationship with food and themselves.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my private practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I work collaboratively with clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, challenge cognitive distortions, and develop more balanced, realistic perspectives. Through structured sessions, I incorporate practical strategies such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skill-building exercises, while encouraging between-session practice to reinforce progress. My goal is to equip clients with effective tools they can use independently to manage symptoms related to conditions like Anxiety Disorders, Depression, and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, fostering long-term resilience and improved well-being.
Christian Counseling
In my private practice, I integrate Christian counseling by incorporating faith-based principles alongside evidence-based therapeutic approaches to support clients holistically. I create a safe, respectful space where clients can explore their concerns through a spiritual lens, drawing on Scripture, prayer, and core Christian values when appropriate to the client’s beliefs and preferences. I help clients connect their faith to their healing process, fostering hope, purpose, and resilience while addressing emotional and relational challenges. My approach is collaborative and client-centered, allowing individuals to strengthen both their mental health and spiritual well-being in a way that is meaningful to them.
Faith based therapy
In my private practice, I offer faith-based counseling by integrating clients’ spiritual beliefs and values into the therapeutic process in a way that is respectful, collaborative, and client-led. I support clients in exploring how their faith can serve as a source of strength, meaning, and guidance while addressing emotional, relational, and life challenges. When appropriate, I incorporate spiritual practices such as reflection, prayer, or discussion of faith principles to promote healing and personal growth. My goal is to provide a holistic approach that nurtures both mental health and spiritual well-being, tailored to each client’s unique beliefs and preferences.
Eclectic
In my private practice, I use an eclectic approach by drawing from multiple evidence-based therapeutic modalities to meet the unique needs of each client. Rather than relying on a single framework, I tailor interventions by integrating techniques from approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, person-centered therapy, and solution-focused therapy. This flexible, client-centered style allows me to adapt to each individual’s goals, preferences, and presenting concerns, ensuring that treatment is both personalized and effective. My goal is to provide a responsive and holistic experience that supports meaningful, lasting change.
