I am a graduate of The University of California San Francisco (UCSF) and a board certified psychiatric nurse practitioner with a combined clinical experience of over 20 years in mental health. I believe in taking a collaborative approach when partnering with patients. I also believe that if things are done well in the beginning, positive outcomes are more likely to occur. Doing things well means: • Allocating sufficient and quality time with each patient • Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations and assessments that lead to more effective treatment outcomes. • Working collaboratively with each patient to develop patient centered treatment plans that meet individual needs. • Integrating information from evidence-based research while taking a holistic and innovative approach to tackling mental health challenges of her patients. • Keeping my fingers on the pulse of things by ensuring timely and regular follow-ups.
Our first session will begin with introductions, identifying your current and specific challenges followed by an in depth review of your personal, psychiatric, medical and medication histories. We will also discuss life experiences that may be impacting or have impacted your mental health such as exposure to abuse or trauma.
Taking time to listen to my patients, maintaining an open mind/non-judgmental stance, encouraging open dialogue. I am also very big on providing best practice information and in giving my patients time to think about my treatment proposals before making decisions.
I specialize in treating adults between ages 18 to 65.
