Let's be honest, sometimes life hits you hard. Let's talk about it. My name is Dominique Haskell and I am passionate about supporting adolescents and adults build skills and explore personal strengths to gain agency over life's struggles. Whether you are feeling overwhelmed by life stressors, or in recovery of trauma and/or addiction, I will provide strength and evidence-based approaches to help you understand and overcome these barriers. In our work together we will use a systemic approach to explore the root of the issue, as well as the strengths you contain to support you in tackling life's challenges. Seeking therapy can be scary, and I congratulate you on being here! I believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship and building a genuine rapport to provide a space of safety and healing. It is my belief that YOU are your own expert. In our work together we will work collaboratively to support you reach your personal goals. In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
I use evidence-based approaches including CBT, CPT, DBT, SFT, MI, Systems Theory, and trauma-informed care. I use collaboration to help you reach your goals. I am the guide to support you reach your destination.
I have experience working with trauma survivors, addiction, and incarcerated persons. If you've ever felt like the underdog, unseen, unheard, or misunderstood, I would love the opportunity to get to know you and hear your story.
