As a licensed psychotherapist (LMFT), I want to help you identify and reach your goals in life. My focus is on providing compassionate support with evidence-based therapy. I have worked for 6 years as a therapist, many more years both in schools and non-profit organizations, and have degrees in psychology from UC Santa Cruz and the University of San Francisco.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Sessions with me are a place where you can freely express yourself (or learn to) and also get information about ways to grow. I use a variety of therapy methods based on your individual personality and needs, including CBT, narrative, existential, humanistic, art, and book/movie therapies. I can help you consider which thought patterns are helpful or are holding you back. We will identify areas of dissatisfaction in your life and explore ways to make the improvements you desire. Past traumas can be processed in a safe environment, where your healthy instincts can give you confidence. We will move at a speed that is comfortable for you, but therapy will at times make you feel uncomfortable or challenge ways you’ve thought or behaved. That is expected and shows you are growing! More specifically, the first session will be an intake appointment. You will receive an email link to complete an intake questionnaire in advance, and then we will spend time going over it together so we can get an idea of what you want from therapy. We will identify some goals to start working toward. I know that many people have trouble trusting a new person with these personal details, so we will go at your pace.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am very compassionate and validating, while also focusing on information and teaching new skills. I am genuinely interested in what my clients have to say and what they’re going through. Helping people better understand themselves and improve the relationships in their lives is what drives me as a therapist.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I can help you with anxiety, depression, trauma, religious trauma, LGBTQIA+ issues, parenting, ADHD, ASD, learning disorders, infertility, chronic illness, issues around creativity, self-confidence and awareness, interpersonal skills and communication, video gaming (both addiction and performance), and many other challenges you may be facing. In addition to what you’re going through, I know the stress in the world right now might be making your life even more complicated. It may be affecting your relationships and affect your work. In our sessions, you can learn coping skills to handle troubling situations like these and more. We can also look at patterns in your life that aren’t giving you the results you want and find new approaches. Starting therapy can feel really intimidating and vulnerable, and I appreciate your courage in taking this step. I will not judge you. It’s important to “click” with your therapist, so let’s try a session and see if it works for you.

I feel very comfortable and was afraid of playing catch up because of my other therapist going on maternity leave. I can see myself making progress in my mental and physical health

My treatment methods

Eclectic

I use different methods depending on your needs and the situation. This can include completely Secular Therapy or integrating your spiritual beliefs and values into the therapy. I regularly utilize techniques and ideas from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing, Solution-Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Existential, Humanistic, Narrative Therapy and more. These all offer useful tools and insights, instead of sticking to a one-size-fits-all approach. Not every approach is right for every person, and I am dedicated to finding what approach and tools work best for you as an individual.
