Do you feel like you need someone to talk to about your problems? Do you have a loved one struggling and trying to find help? Are worried about your child and would like professional help? Hello! My name is Kendra Theroith. I have spent the past 13 years working as a therapist. I studied at Mount Mercy University located in Cedar Rapids, Iowa for my undergraduate degree. I attended Chapman University in Orange, California for my masters degree. I have been a practicing therapist since 2010. I’m open to working with anyone who is looking to better understand themselves and unlock their potential. My clinical experience spans from clients of all ages and all walks of life. I have worked with adults, adolescents and children specializing in depression, anxiety, mood disorders, behavioral issues, autism and developmental disabilities. Developing healthy coping skills with the appropriate tools is essential in becoming the happy and motivated person you would like to be. I'm very understanding and will work with everyone. I provide the most safest and comfortable environment where you can be free to express yourself.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My goal in therapy is to help others overcome personal issues, crisis, improve relationships, develop healthy boundaries, build self-esteem and reach goals. My passion is to make a difference in my community and help people to see their own unique abilities. I am dedicated to guiding and supporting my clients through the healing process as they strive to live a purposeful life. I set clear goals for myself and my clients, and treat every session as an opportunity to make progress.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

I approach therapy with an eclectic assortment of approaches and tools to individualize our work together to meet your needs best. I listen to my clients, engage honestly, and tell them the things they need to hear. I also assign homework to ensure we’re not just talking; we’re actually getting better.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest strengths are: communication, patience, building confidence, non-judgmental, observant, listening skills, building trust and being respectful. Another strength is helping my clients navigate transition periods and build skills to allow them to feel better about themselves and develop a more positive outlook on life.
