Dr. Zafar is a US educated, trained, and double board certified psychiatrist. Prior to pursuing medicine, he has had a successful career in engineering, helping build complicated implantable defibrillators, pacemakers, and deep brain stimulators. Dr. Zafar believes that prescription of medications without an adequate understanding of the brain, often results in frustration and worsening of mental health. His approach to Psychiatry encompasses understanding your mental health and gaining insight into how your brain developed, and currently functions to define who you are as a child, sibling, partner, spouse, parent, grandparent. He understands the importance of your mental health is and its effects on your daily life and your loved ones.

Dr Zafar is the type of psychiatrist that makes you feel like your do not matter at all, and that he does not care about how your doing just if your symptoms justify the medication he thinks you should take
