LCSW, 15 years of experience
I'm Graciela (Grace) Rougier, a bilingual licensed therapist (License #88419), certified in both Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Play Therapy. With over 15 years of experience, I’ve had the privilege of working with individuals facing a wide range of challenges, including anxiety, depression, trauma, suicidality, and life transitions. I believe deeply in our interconnectedness — that healthy relationships are vital not just for individual well-being, but for the collective wellness of our communities and the planet. Becoming a mother during the pandemic further deepened my commitment to community care and reminded me of the strength that comes from compassionate connection. In our work together, we’ll take a humanistic, whole-person approach — focusing not just on symptoms or diagnoses, but on your unique experiences, strengths, and needs. My goal is to help create a space where you can feel safe, supported, and empowered to heal, grow, and thrive. You deserve that space — and I’m honored to be part of your journey.
In our first session, we’ll begin with a brief introduction so we can get to know each other. From there, we’ll explore the challenges you’re currently facing. This conversation will help me better understand your needs and begin to craft a personalized plan for our work together in future sessions.
I implement a wide range of methods to support clients and determined my approach after consulting with my client. I often utilize a humanistic approach with clients, strength-based therapy, motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy and play therapy ( even for adults!).
We all learn by playing! As little kids, we use play to communicate with the world around us and to optimize our growth and development. Sadly, as we become adults we lose our playful skills and get drowned out by the demands of everyday life. As a play therapist, I support clients rediscover their joy and playfulness because as we all know, life is too short.
I truly enjoy working with both children and adults. My clients often come to me feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or uncertain — sometimes facing symptoms of depression or navigating a personal crisis. Whether we're addressing challenges at school, at home, or within relationships, I focus on creating a supportive and collaborative space where healing and growth can happen. Together, we work to build the tools and resilience needed to move forward with greater confidence and clarity.
