I’m a compassionate psychotherapist serving my community. I graduated from the University of California, Irvine with a Bachelors in Psychology and Social Behavior. I attained my Masters in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University. I started my career in the psychology field working as a school based counselor in both an elementary and high school program. I also have a decade of experience as an Early Childhood Interventionist and Behavioral Therapist for kids and teens on the spectrum for Autism. I later gathered experience in a hospital setting working with patients who struggled with “diabetes burnout” which is fatigue, both emotionally and physically, for caring for themselves as individuals diagnosed with Diabetes Type 1 or Diabetes Type 2. I also interned in a Pain Management clinic where I helped facilitate a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy Group For Managing Chronic Pain. As a licensed clinician I have facilitated group therapy at a partial hospitalization program for elderly and adult clients, I have co-facilitated an ADHD coping skills group for young children diagnosed with ADHD, I have provide individual therapy, and conduct intake assessments and treatment planning, all in an outpatient setting.
I embody a collaborative and person-centered approach to helping you meet meaningful personal goals. My motivation is guiding you to build a fulfilling present life through unconditional positive regard and collaboration. I utilize researched based therapeutic approaches that are personalized to each individual I work with.
I utilize therapeutic interventions that are custom to your personality, the way you think and your worldviews. The methods that I most commonly use are Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), mindfulness based therapy, Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Behavior Modification Therapy.
One of my biggest strengths is meeting my clients where they are. I strive to tailor individual therapy to you, your values and your needs. Another strength I possess is the keen sense of how to build a strong therapeutic relationship with each and every individual I treat. A strong therapeutic relationship has been found, through research, to be the biggest predictor of success in mental health therapy. Another one of my biggest strengths is that my approach in the therapy room is always rooted in current and researched based methodologies. Lastly, I excel in collaborating with my clients on setting specific and meaningful therapy goals. I always strive to get each of my clients to a place where they are feeling healthier and more present emotionally in their relationships and day-to-day lives.
