Hello! I am a first generation Mexican-American Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my Masters in Counseling from California State University Fullerton in 2020 and have been practicing for 4 years. I work with children, teens, and adults who are struggling with anxiety, depression, and trauma by creating a space where they can heal and grow. I practice both in English and Spanish.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In your first session, I will ask you about what brought you to therapy, help you identify your therapy goals, and explore your expectations for therapy. We will also explore how I can best support your mental health journey as your therapist and how I can best create a safe space for you. This first session is also a good time for you to ask me questions that may help you decide if I am a good fit for you.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

Having several years of experience working with youth and individuals with multiple stressors, adjustments, and trauma, I have developed the ability to create a safe space where individuals are able to comfortably explore/identify their emotions and work through their challenges. I also provide culturally informed care and integrate compassion to create this safe space for my clients while gently challenging them as needed.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I enjoy working with individuals who are struggling with life adjustments/transitions, low self-esteem, insecurities, managing symptoms of depression or anxiety, and with individuals who may be struggling with a traumatic or stressful event. I specially enjoy working with individuals who even though they may not know where to begin, are ready to explore, learn, and collaboratively work together.

My treatment methods

Strength-Based

I like to help client's identify their strengths and use these strengths to inform treatment and progress.

Trauma Informed Care

Trauma informed care is integrated in my approach to therapy to better inform clinical interventions. I like to meet clients where they are and will provide trauma-informed psychoeducation as needed.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I use dialectical behavior therapy interventions to address high risk concerns, help client learn and practice emotional regulation skills, and to guide client's relational functioning.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use culturally sensitive Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify how their emotions, thoughts, and behaviors influence one another and to help clients challenge distorted cognitions.
