Welcome! I am a proud Black woman, and first generation to college graduate. I am a licensed psychologist, and someone committed to whole person healing. If you are reading this, you’ve already taken a courageous first step toward your healing journey. Navigating the world as a woman of color often means carrying unique burdens—balancing cultural expectations, systemic pressures, generational trauma, and the everyday demands of life. You don’t have to carry it all alone. I specialize in working with women of color and individuals from other marginalized backgrounds who are seeking a safe, validating space to untangle their experiences and rediscover their authentic selves. My approach to therapy is fundamentally holistic. I believe that true healing requires looking at the whole person—mind, body, and spirit—in the context of your unique environment and culture.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I prioritize cultural humility as we explore how your diverse background influences your lived experience, providing a dedicated space to navigate the complexities of social expectations and life transitions—whether you are moving into motherhood or managing the weight of depression, intersectional oppression, and anxiety as a woman of color, or individual from another marginalized background.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a Black woman, my lived experience deeply informs my clinical lens, allowing me to provide an authentically empathetic space where women of color and individuals from diverse backgrounds can feel truly seen without the burden of explanation. What stands out about my approach is the integration of cultural humility with a focus on deconstructing systemic narratives, where we measure your progress not just by the reduction of symptoms, but by your increased sense of agency, the strengthening of your boundaries, and your ability to live in alignment with your own values rather than external expectations.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve women of color and individuals from marginalized communities who are seeking a therapeutic space where their identities are not just acknowledged, but deeply honored. I work most effectively with those who are navigating the heavy intersection of systemic oppression, cultural expectations, and personal growth. I am a dedicated advocate for clients who: Navigate Complex Cultural Narratives: I support women who feel caught between the "Strong Woman" trope and their own need for vulnerability, helping them deconstruct internalized scripts that demand self-sacrifice at the expense of their mental health. Experience Systemic and Racial Stress: I am best equipped to serve those facing the daily wear and tear of microaggressions, imposter syndrome, and workplace or academic exclusion, providing a space where their reality is validated without the need for explanation. Manage Intergenerational Dynamics: I work with individuals who are the "cycle breakers" in their families, helping them honor their ancestral heritage while establishing the healthy boundaries necessary to heal from generational trauma. Occupy Marginalized Identities: I am positioned to serve those who live at the intersections of multiple marginalized identities who require a therapist who understands how these layers of identity impact their safety, belonging, and self-perception. Seek Holistic Integration: I work from a holistic framework, borrowing from CBT, interpersonal and culturally sensitive treatment. I am an ideal fit for clients who want to integrate their spiritual beliefs, community values, and somatic experiences into their healing journey.

My treatment methods

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

I provide culturally sensitive therapy by practicing cultural humility and actively adapting my clinical approach to honor each patient’s unique heritage, identity, and lived experience, ensuring that their cultural values are respected as central pillars of the healing process.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use CBT to help individuals from marginalized backgrounds identify and reframe internalized narratives and harmful cultural scripts, empowering them to dismantle self-doubt while developing practical tools to navigate systemic stress and burnout.

Interpersonal

I utilize interpersonal therapy to help women of color, and other marginalized folx navigate complex relationship dynamics, manage life transitions, and address the impact of cultural expectations and systemic stress on their mental well-being, fostering healing through healthy connection and improved communication.

Trauma Informed Care

I provide trauma-informed care by prioritizing physical and emotional safety, recognizing the physiological impact of trauma on the nervous system, and shifting the therapeutic lens from "what is wrong with you" to "what has happened to you" to foster empowerment and collaborative healing. In terms of specific modalities to target trauma, I am trained in CPT, PE, and Trauma Focused CBT.
