Hey There! My name is Jeshana Johnson, I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist based in California. I received my masters degree in clinical psychology from Azusa Pacific University, CA. I was drawn to the mental health field by learning about human emotions, connections, and a strong desire to support people through life’s hardest moments. Over the years, I’ve witnessed how transformative it can be to feel truly seen and heard, which is something many of us go without for too long. My path has been shaped by personal experiences, clinical training, and the privilege of walking alongside clients in their healing.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

Your first session can be intimidating, but this is where you get to share your story. You will share what brings you in, what you’re hoping to work on, and what’s most important to you right now. I’ll ask some questions to understand your story, your strengths, and any challenges you’re facing, but there’s no pressure to share everything at once. We’ll go at your pace and focus on creating a space where you feel comfortable and supported. It’s completely normal to feel nervous before starting therapy, especially if it’s your first time. My job is to help you feel safe, heard, and respected from the very beginning. By the end of our session, we’ll talk about what you’d like to focus on going forward and begin shaping a plan that fits your goals and needs.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

In sessions, my greatest strengths are to create a grounding space where my client can speak freely and feel genuinely heard. My communication style is gentle but honest. I listen closely, reflect on what I hear, and offer thoughtful insights or questions to help you deepen your understanding and move forward. I may gently challenge unhelpful patterns or beliefs, but always with compassion and respect for your pace. If you’re unsure what you’re feeling, we might slow things down, tune into your body, and make space for whatever comes up. My goal is for you to feel safe, supported, and empowered as we navigate the work together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I specialize in working with individuals who often feel overwhelmed, stuck, or disconnected, whether due to anxiety, trauma, chronic stress, or challenging relationships. I work with individuals who have had many challenges in balancing life and placing their mental health on the back burner, or those navigating life transitions while trying to break generational patterns. They’re often resilient, insightful, and exhausted from doing it all alone. In our work together, I help clients reconnect with themselves, set healthy boundaries, and build emotional resilience. Through a supportive, open space, we explore what’s holding you back and develop tools that align with your values and goals. My role is to help you feel empowered, understood, and capable of creating meaningful change in your life.
