Hi, I'm Tre'Nise! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in California. I earned a BA degree in Human Services with a concentration in Mental Health Recovery and a minor in Psychology from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a Masters in Social Work with a concentration in Child Welfare from California State University, San Bernardino. The core of my practice is building the therapeutic relationship first, meeting the client where they are at, and letting the client be the author of own their story. I am passionate about the services I provide and approach therapy with a calm and gracious tone as an effort to serve the client and help guide the client to a better version of themselves.
In our first session together, we'll start with introductions that will allow for us to develop a therapeutic alliance. We will then dive into the specific challenges you're facing. This will help us create an individualized plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions. We will work together as a team to develop and accomplish the goals that bring you to this safe space to process the complexities of day to day life.
I believe you are the author of your own story so I work hard to empower my clients to find their voice and become a version of themselves they can be proud of.
I love working with adolescents and young adults who are struggling to find their voice, navigate complex life stressors, and relational issues/conflicts. Some even have struggles with diagnoses such as anxiety, depression, adjustment disorder, and ADHD. My clients have the drive and motivation to develop and utilize positive coping skills, reduce negative self-talk and increase confidence and self-worth.
My experience with CBT is helping clients understand how thoughts, feelings, and actions are all connected and triggered as a response to any given situation. Thoughts, feelings, and actions can be viewed as helpful or unhelpful. I strive to help my clients think differently about a situation, begin to recognize, process and understand what they’re feeling so that they can have different outcomes and or reactions to various life challenges.
I enjoy using mindfulness as a treatment modality because it helps, recenter and focus the mind and gives the client the ability to confront their thoughts and emotions in a more receptive state of mind. Being in a receiving emotional state helps clients to receive feedback and utilize coping skills needed to succeeded and or confront various life challenges. Mindfulness based therapy helps accomplish this goal.
The client is the author of their story. I provide encouragement to clients in crisis to identify the problem, stabilize the client and strategize with the client to come up with a solution to their problem to get them back their homeostasis and increase their state of functioning.
