Hello, thank you for coming to my web page, and I want to help you with whatever journey comes our way. I have 8 years of experience, with combined internship and as an LMFT in dealing with anxiety, depression and trauma. Being married, I believe that I can relate when married couples have struggles and they need my help with a tune-up or their restart. I empower clients to use different ways of thinking to whatever life situations come your way, by giving many different ways to solve problems, and improve communication and strive for assertiveness and self-confidence, and let go of past hurts. I strive to listen to clients at their lowest lows and highest highs and bring Christian views and values whenever possible.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together, I will share a little about myself such as my education background, past work experience and my framework as a therapist. I would hear your challenges and try to set some goals to work on and answer any questions.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

The strengths that I have is empathy, and that is shown by validating as often as I can with a client when it is necessary because that is important to build rapport. Listening is also a developing strength and asking clarifying questions. I also have the strength of trying to challenge clients at the right time, in order to overcome fear and anxiety. The strength of setting boundaries and being neutral is important as well.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Through my years of experience I have found that the best clients to serve are the those who are willing to take the next step and put in the work. Sometimes it does require one step at a time, however a mountain is claimed one step at a time.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have used CBT to help client's examine the difference between rational thoughts and irrational thoughts and how they play into everyday situations. Our thoughts play a big part in emotions and I will give techniques on ways to identify, stop, and re-identify negative thoughts, so negative behavioral patterns do not repeat themselves.

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Similar to CBT, learning to not "buy" into every negative thought and yet just recognize it and choose to "buy" or not "buy" into a negative thought. Interventions are given to create separation with thoughts and behavior.

Christian Counseling

I try to give a Christian prospective to clients when I can, to help make choices in life.

Gestalt

I have used the empty chair technique to help clients communicate missed opportunities in life. First, they close their eyes and visualize the person in the empty chair and then they share what is on their mind.

I found that Ashley made very good use of the time we had. She shared background information on herself that was reassuring in the areas of experience and training. She was clear about the goal/purpose for our conversation and helpful with a strategy for reaching that goal by way of the butterfly analogy. I appreciated that Ashley took notes, and was able to reflect/expand on goals for my sessions. Overall, I found it very easy to talk with Ashley, as she made me feel heard and understood.
