Hello there! My name is Sarah. Life is filled with so many challenges, and many people experience a period of anxiety or depression at some point in their lives. If you are feeling overwhelmed and unsure where to turn, let's work together to figure things out! I use a collaborative approach to help people manage stress and avoid burnout. Together, we'll identify areas of your life that you want to improve, as well as the strengths that you want to expand upon and develop. While I consider you the expert of your own life, I will also offer my expertise, including different skills, strategies, and exercises that can be applied to your everyday life. Trying therapy for the first time can be intimidating, but I am here to walk you through the process! Your decision to engage in treatment is a testament to your strength, and I would be honored to help you along in your journey.
After your first session, you can expect to have a better understanding of the therapy process. We will discuss what your goals are for our time together, and what you are hoping to gain by the end of this process. While everyone's journey is different, you can expect to learn new coping strategies and learn more about yourself throughout our sessions.
I gravitate towards using Cognitive Behavioral approaches such as DBT and ACT, as well as Solution-Focused Therapy. I have an art therapy background and enjoy bringing creative elements into therapy to promote healing and help you gain insight. Regardless of the framework I am using, I will make sure to collaborate with you and aim to create a safe and trusting environment.
My specialties include working with depression, anxiety, and self-esteem. I have worked extensively with adolescents and young adults experiencing life transitions. Having worked in school-based environments for many years, I understand the pressures that young people are facing in today's world, and strive to empower them to find themselves and work through the challenges they are facing.
I am interested in working with adolescents and young adults (ages 14-30).
