Hi there, I am Donna I love a mixture of different approaches to therapy to get to the root of what has been difficult or confusing at times during our journey in life. the ups and downs in our journey in relationships, job stress, and family interactions can be overwhelming and stressful, learning balance is part of what I believe is finding ourselves and identifying the needs versus the wants of life choices and understanding ourselves. I love the empowering of the self. Working together using a whole self approach addresses what I identify as balance - body, mind, and soul (content or peace) that helps develop a strong relationship with yourself. Seeking therapy can be a scary adventure, but well worth it. I am transparent, open, and honest with each person I come in contact with, I am here to help you on your journey with mindfulness, understanding, and evidence-based techniques.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session it will be part of getting to know you as an individual and also to ensure I am a good fit to guide you in areas that are difficult, challenging or other dynamics occuring in your life. It is important to build a sense of understanding and motivation to gain knowledged for self-development.

What treatment methods and tools do you utilize?

Most treatment methods are evidence-based - so what does that mean just in simple terms that it is backed by scientific evidence so it is constantly reviewed, analyze, and translated into a process that is effective for change. I use a variety of methods, including worksheets, CBT - cognitive behavior; and integrating things that you have as part of your daily life- for example exercise, journal writing, painting, and many other ways to develop positive coping skills that are attainable.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My strength is to have active and reflective listening skills, this is important as a therapist because if I am not actively participating the individual in front of me will not think I am interested. I am interested always. I believe that the variety of areas that I have been involved in with the culture, socioeconomics, family dynamics, and exploring new developments in therapy is what is important to be an effective therapist.
