I have been working with youth, young adults, and families since 1999, and have since dedicated my life work to serving families and children improve their lives. I have been a licensed marriage and family therapist since 2014. My expertise is working with families and children who have behavioral difficulties, mental health, and difficulties within the family dynamics. My wide range of experiences has been working in community home-based services, school settings with children with autism and behavioral difficulties, in government setting with children who have been marginalized and abused, and both in outpatient settings and hospital settings.
I want my patients to know that I am a compassionate and caring provider who will listen carefully to what they are saying and what they want to accomplish in therapy.
I am a hopeful and positive person that believes in the power of resiliency, and belief in oneself. I believe each person takes their own time to process and work through life experiences, trauma, and find meaning. Through this process each individual can set realistic goals to accomplish a better sense of self and wellbeing.
I grew up in a single parent household and partially with a stepparent, I grew up with my own behavioral difficulties in adolescence and became a mother at an early age; I came from a first-generation family and through many life experiences learned the value of family, having your own dreams, working hard, believing in yourself, and finding meaning and balance in your life. I believe that each person has inside of themselves what is needed to be healed, whole and complete, and therapy is a safe container to explore what is needed to reach those goals.
