(she/her)
Hello there! I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) in the state of California. I received my Masters in Counseling, Option in Marriage and Family Therapy from California State University, Los Angeles and have been practicing in the mental health field for 9 years. I help adolescents and young adults navigate their lives, challenges, and needs to learn more about themselves and implement tools to support their overall well-being.
The therapeutic relationship is dependent on exactly that - the relationship between the client and their therapist. With an emphasis on rapport building, in our first session together, we will begin with introductions and dive into your goals for treatment. I believe the client is the captain and with this initial discussion, I will be able to create a tailored plan for us to work through in our follow-up sessions to meet your needs and goals.
I have worked primarily with teens and young adults over the span of my career thus far. I understand the loneliness and confusion that may arise when navigating this stage of life and I have honed in on assisting clients in identifying the root causes to their challenges, providing a safe space to discuss their challenges, and creating an individualized plan for growth and healing.
I am most passionate about assisting adolescents and young adults to navigate a highly changing and at times, difficult stage of life. My client's may find areas such as school, family, childhood, trauma, relationships, and career may be especially challenging, but are open and interested in learning the tools to overcome immediate obstacles as well as skills to carry throughout the rest of their lives.
Compassion Focused
I am passionate in creating a most affirmative and safe environment for the clients that I serve in which I remain a genuine, authentic other, emphasizing rapport building, utilizing empathetic, confrontation, and creating a space in which growth, self reflection, increased autonomy, and increased insight is cultivated to assist clients in meeting their treatment goals.
Trauma Informed Care
Trauma lives both within the conscious and sub conscious mind, providing insight and clarity to our responses, thoughts, and feelings. I approach my clients with a true need to understand their life experiences in order to promote the client's self-awareness, empower the client through their past experiences, and provide person-centered, individualized, and strength's based care.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
It is our thoughts that influence our behavior and ultimately our feelings. With a Cognitive Behaviorial approach, I assist client's in taking incremental steps to identify the antecedents to negtive thoughts to promote self-awareness and utilization of thought-changing tools to achieve positive behavior change.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Oftentimes, our minds wander into the events of the past or the possibilities of the future. With a mindfulness approach, I empower client's to remain in the present moment, gaining power over their thoughts and ultimately optimizing their life experiences and overall well-being.
