Gail Wylde
I have a background in social work which has helped me treat clients with compassion and empathy. I enjoy helping clients find their way forward and toward more fulfilling lives after recovering from anxiety, depression, and trauma. I have completed trainings in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Processing Therapy in addition to others. I also believe in talk therapy.
First session
In the first session we will get to know one another. I will explain my approach to therapy. It is the first opportunity to let me know why you have come to therapy and any symptoms you are having. In addition, I will ask you about your history, including your childhood, education, relationships, your current living situation, and any trauma you have experienced.
Strengths
The greatest strengths that I bring to therapy are that I am nonjudgmental, easy to talk to, and have a great deal of experience as a therapist.
Ideal clients
I have treated geriatric clients, college students, and other adult clients with anxiety, depression, trauma, OCD and ADHD.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Beck CBT to treat clients with anxiety and depression.
Cognitive Processing (CPT)
I use cognitive processing therapy for clients with PTSD especially PTSD for sexual assault.
Exposure Response Prevention (ERP)
I use ERP to treat clients with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and phobias.
