I am a therapist who seeks to help patients identify their values and the skills within themselves. I provide the patient with knowledge and insight into their ability to live these values so they can effectively confront current and future problems. I have served in a variety of platforms providing mental health services to clients who suffer from depression, anxiety, interpersonal relationships, mood disorders, childhood as well as adult trauma and suicidal thoughts. I allow clients to feel comfortable, not pressured, to open up at their own pace where they feel safe and supported. Therapy should feel safe and productive.
Upon our first session, clients will be able to identify areas that they would like to work on improving. Each session will begin with a check-in/update on the homework assigned and/or difficult situations that occurred since the prior session and then we will address our goals.
I most often utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Somatic Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
One of my biggest and most appreciated strengths is being a therapist who is not ONLY clinically educated, but also practices from learned experiences. This allows the therapeutic setting to offer more realistic and relatable goals for more successful outcomes.
