(she/her)
I have worked in the mental health and social services field for over 15 years. My time working with clients has taught me about the power of relationships and connection. In therapy, I take a trauma-informed, Strengths-Based approach utilizing different therapeutic modalities. I focus on creating a safe and healing space for my clients to encourage their growth in self-awareness and their capabilities.
The first session is the only the beginning of building a relationships and connecting. There are a lot of questions that will help me to get to know you and start to figure out the best ways that we can work together and how I can provide support.
My greatest strengths are being genuine and providing a place where clients can feel safe to be themselves.
I believe in using humor and genuine connection to assist my clients in taking positive steps toward taking care of themselves and their mental wellness.
EMDR
I have been trained in EMDR since 2017. I utilize it to support client's in reprocessing traumatic memories and emotions that are disruptive to their functioning.
Trauma Informed Care
I use a trauma informed lens in my practice in which I look collaboratively with my clients at the way trauma continues to impact them on a daily basis under the lens of its not what is "wrong" with them but what happened to them.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT to support clients with depression and anxiety to understand how their thoughts, behaviors, and feelings are interconnected and work to identify unhelpful ways of thinking.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
DBT helps clients to increase their understanding of their own brain and ways of interacting with the world emotionally and rationally. It can also help clients to increase their utilization of mindfulness and presence in their day to day lives.
Motivational Interviewing
I utilize MI as a way to support client's in processing their day to day experiences and develop further insight into things they want to work on and change.
