Hello my name is Edwin, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker who has been working in the mental health field for 13 years and counting. I have been a social worker/therapist for the past 7 years. During my years of working in the mental health field I have worked with children, youth, adults and older adults. I have worked with clients/patients who are experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, acute and long-term changes in their life. I became a therapist because I find it rewarding knowing that I am able to help others.

First session
During the first session we will talk about the reason you are seeking therapy, I will gather information about your background, current challenges, develop attainable goals, explore your current support system, explore current coping skills, discuss my approach that we determine as a team would be best to tackle your challenges that you are going through and get to know each other.
Strengths
I enjoy working with youth and Adults to assist them with managing their anxiety, depression, relationship obstacles, parental goals, and life events.
Ideal clients
The age range can be from youth to Adults. I also would like to help clients who are open to learning new interventions and are willing to practice these skills outside of therapy to increase efficiency of therapy and attaining your therapy goals.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
CBT emphasizes that your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are all interconnected and that changing negative thoughts patterns through in the moment interventions or coping skills can help improve mood and actions. CBT is a collaborative, goal-oriented and short-term process where the client and therapist work together to challenge negative thoughts and replace them with more rational perspectives.
