Hello! My name is Ms. Tawanda McPhatter and I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Virginia. I received my Master's Degree from Virginia Commonwealth University, and I have been providing therapy services for 12 years. I allow my clients a safe space to discuss their issues, concerns, and needs for themselves using behavioral approaches. I am a very avid listener and I feel that listening is very important when assisting my clients and helps identify their feelings and thoughts on things so that I can identify ways that I can be of assistance in helping to work through and/or address these issues and/or concerns.
Hi. I am Victoria. I believe that we each have the power within us to heal, change and grow the life we’ve always imagined. But no one does this alone. I value the power of therapeutic relationships to help us overcome fears and obstacles that get in the way; whether from trauma, symptoms of anxiety or depression, or difficult medical, societal or environmental circumstances. I have a Master's Degree in Social Work and completed a Post-Master's Fellowship at the Yale Child Study Center. I have been a licensed clinician for 35 years. I am also a Qualified Supervisor of therapists specializing in the treatment of trauma of all kinds including loss and attachment trauma from disrupted relationships. I work with pre-school children and their families, school-aged children and teens and adults. I have successfully treated a wide range of behavioral health disorders including ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, BiPolar Disorder, Eating Disorders and many co-occurring concerns. I am person-centered and strive to be culturally aware in all that I do. Therapy proceeds at your pace, in your time at your direction. I would love to be alongside in your journey to help you discover your heart’s light.
I have lived a long and colorful life. Like everyone else, I've made good and bad choices and learned from each. I have 22+ years experience in the mental health and substance abuse treatment field. I DO NOT JUDGE, AT ALL, PERIOD. I can be both blunt and gentle as appropriate. My role is to offer another perspective, a way to see life more fully and function better, no more, no less. I don't pretend to have all the answers but only one slice of wisdom. I just share what can help someone. Some people are not yet ready to be helped. Yet for those who are feeling lost on life's journey and are willing to listen and learn, I'm here to assist. My life work can be summed up in three words, "offering people hope. "

This is my fourth year in the social work field, and I have been in my own solo practice for a year. I am independently licensed in NC, SC, VA, and OR as an LCSW/ LISW-CP. In my off time, I love binge-watching Netflix and spending time with my children.
Hello and welcome to your mental health therapy journey. You’re about to embark on a meaningful path of self-discovery, growth, and healing. I would be honored to walk alongside you.
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor with a deep passion for helping others navigate life’s challenges and uncover their inner strengths. Long before I earned my credentials, I have always felt I was a counselor. Formal training only deepened my understanding and sharpened my skills.
Outside the therapy room, I’m a storyteller at heart and a collector of hobbies many of which involve craft projects I’ve enthusiastically started (and occasionally forgotten). I bring creativity, curiosity, and compassion into my practice, and I look forward to supporting you as you explore what it means to thrive.
During my career my clientele has included men, women, non-binary/gender nonconforming individuals, kids, and families with mental health, relational, and/or emotional issues. I have experience with all socio-economic and cultural backgrounds as well as extensive experience with complex trauma. I have worked in community mental health as well with a non-profit organization that provides services to children and families who are involved with the foster care system. During treatment I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Person-Centered Therapy, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT). These models are integrated or utilized based on the clinical needs of the individual.
I have several years of experience treating individuals, families, and adolescents using a holistic, empathic, and trauma-informed approach. Watching friends and family struggle with mental health and substance abuse issues fueled my passion for helping those who struggle with these difficulties from a place of understanding, patience, and empathy. I received a BA in psychology first, which led to obtaining a substance abuse certificate. I gained experience working with families and individuals and, after some time, I was ready to further my education and obtained a Master of Social Work. This helped me expand my clinical skills and learn more targeted therapy modalities, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, DBT, psychoanalytical care, and art therapy. I found these approaches are a great synthesis of neuroscience, trauma, and creativity.

I'm a licensed clinical social worker and psychotherapist, and I want to recognize how courageous it is to take that first step toward seeking support. It’s not easy, and I’m really glad you’re here.
Over the past 6 years, I’ve had the privilege of walking alongside people through some of their most vulnerable moments. My goal is to create a space that feels safe and grounded in trust.
Are you burned out? Easily triggered? Wondering whether or not you're on the right path?
As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), practicing virtually in South Carolina and Alabama, I am dedicated to helping individuals navigate the challenges they face in today’s world while pouring into their loved ones. My approach integrates a variety of therapeutic approaches and psychoeducation to create and implement personalized treatment plans that promote lasting change.
I provide guidance with improving communication, setting boundaries, and strengthening family dynamics. With twenty years in the field of education and almost ten in counseling, I strive to offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental space for clients to explore their feelings, challenge negative thought patterns, and develop coping strategies that work in real life to strengthen their relationships. My therapy sessions are client centered, goal-oriented, practical, educational, and aimed at achieving meaningful results through collaboration and support.
I am a Colorado and South Carolina Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with extensive experience working with: individuals in the midst of grief and other major phase-of-life transitions like divorce, job loss, legal challenges, etc.; teenagers who are struggling with a variety of mental health challenges; couples and families that are struggling to find common ground; and fractured families prior to, during, and after divorce. Building strong families, even through divorce or custody battles, incarceration, or other prolonged periods of estrangement, is a particular area of focus for me. I offer reintegration therapy services for parents and children who have experienced short- and long-term separation or alienation. I love working with families who want to find a way to function better post-divorce.
In addition, I spent a decade working for the Alzheimer's Association, which included counseling individuals and families who were facing a diagnosis of dementia.
Prior to venturing into the counseling field, I ran a non-profit that operated a 100-bed homeless shelter, a family transitional housing program, and an eight-unit supportive housing project for Veterans.
I have a heart for working with military veterans and their families -- having 22 years of service in the US Air Force myself. I served on Active Duty for 6 years, and after a break in service, completed another 16 years as a Reservist. My spouse served alongside me, with each of us deploying twice. Our son is currently serving as well. Therefore, I have been the deployed service member, the spouse left to manage things back home, and the mom watching her "baby" deploy to far-off places. There is almost no part of military service I do not understand through first-hand experience.
I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years of experience helping clients navigate difficult emotions, life transitions, and relational stress. I take a grounded, compassionate, and practical approach, meeting you exactly where you are. My goal is to create a space where you feel supported, seen, and empowered to make meaningful changes that improve your emotional well-being and overall quality of life.
Does this sound familiar: · Feeling stuck? · Trapped? · Struggling to cope with all the demands placed on you? · Feel like you have no control over things in your life? · Struggling to remain organized? · Struggling with life's transitions? · Difficulty managing daily stresses? · Struggling to regulate your emotions?
If you answered 'yes' to any of those and are ready to make a change and take control of your life, allow me to help you. Change is not easy, and it can be scary, but it is necessary in order to move forward. Together we can work to identify and overcome the obstacles in your life that are preventing you from reaching your potential and realizing your goals. I can help you gain insight and develop healthy coping skills so that you may experience personal growth.
Contact me today for a free 20 minute consultation to see if we would be a good fit to work together. If not, I would be happy to help you find someone who is! If you do not see a day/time that works for you, let me know. I am happy to be flexible if my schedule allows for it. My schedule may not always be up to date during busy times as it changes every week. While I only conduct sessions from Monday to Thursday, I am happy to have a consultation call on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over a decade of experience helping adults navigate the complexities of mental health, chronic illness, trauma, and aging. Since beginning my clinical journey in 2012, I've worked in both medical and therapeutic settings, supporting individuals living with serious mental illness and those in long-term care facilities.
With licenses in Georgia, Florida, Virginia, and South Carolina, and a Master of Social Work from the University of Southern Mississippi, I bring a compassionate, culturally informed, and evidence-based approach to care. I have experience in helping people cope with trauma, depression, and schizophrenia.
I believe healing happens when people feel seen, heard, and supported without judgment. Whether you're seeking clarity, stability, or healing, I’m here to walk alongside you at your pace.
Driven by a passion to support others and a keen fascination with the human mind, I embarked on a journey to become a therapist. My practice specializes in assisting LGBTQ+ individuals, as well as those grappling with Depression, Anxiety, and Bipolar Disorder. With an approach that's person-centered and rooted in evidence-based practices, I pride myself on being down-to-earth, approachable, and authentically "Real".
I possess a longstanding interest in mental health and its impact on individuals, families, and communities. Over the years, I have collaborated with clients to improve their well-being in a variety of settings. My experience includes work at a hospital Emergency Department, a hospital psychiatric unit, community organizations, and a mental health agency. I have served individuals with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities, mental illness, and those experiencing homelessness and hopelessness. Additionally, I have provided individual and group therapy in clinical settings.
Counseling Philosophy
In my counseling practice, I believe successful results come through collaboration and intentional effort. The client, as the expert in their own life, takes an active role in treatment by investing their time. The client decides what their best outcome is and together, we ensure the process continues to move forward. Empowering clients by fostering self-awareness and resilience is central to my approach, as is making sure each person feels heard, understood, and supported throughout their journey.
Commitment to Client Autonomy
What sets my counseling style apart is my commitment to respecting my client's autonomy. For instance, I once worked with a client who struggled with anxiety and self-doubt. Through a collaborative approach, we identified the client's strengths and developed practical coping strategies. As the client worked through the process, they regained the confidence they once had and began taking steps toward their desired outcomes. This experience reinforced the value of a supportive, empowering therapeutic alliance.
In every interaction, I strive for the best possible results and lasting change.

Evening and weekend appointments available for working adults.
I help adults who are exhausted from anxiety that won't shut off, depression that drains all energy, sleepless nights, or chronic pain that's controlling their lives. Many of my clients have been struggling for months or even years, trying different approaches without finding real relief. They're ready for something that actually works.
I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) because the research is clear: it provides practical strategies that create measurable change, not just insight. I'm particularly trained in CBT for insomnia (CBT-I) and chronic pain (CBT-CP), which means if you're dealing with sleep problems or pain alongside anxiety or depression, I have specialized tools to help.
With over 20 years of experience treating veterans in VA primary care and hospital settings, I've worked with thousands of people facing anxiety, depression, insomnia, chronic pain, and trauma. What I've learned: effective therapy requires practical tools you can use immediately, a structured approach that respects your time, and a therapist who genuinely believes you can get better.
I opened my private practice specifically to offer evening and weekend appointments because I know working adults can't always take time off during the day. You shouldn't have to choose between your job and getting help for what's keeping you up at night or draining your energy during the day.
My approach: We identify what's keeping you stuck, build a practical plan with strategies you can use right away, and track progress weekly. The focus is on tangible results: reduced anxiety, improved mood, better sleep, less pain interference in your daily life.
Best fit: Adults ready to actively participate in structured, evidence-based treatment and practice skills between sessions.

I work with the LGBTQ+ population and other adults experiencing challenges with anxiety, OCD, grief, depression, self acceptance challenges and life transitions. Hello, and welcome. I’m so glad you’re here. I look forward to working with you and your family. I believe communication—even when it is limited to a single word or gesture—is the foundation of all relationships. In fact, research shows that much of our communication is nonverbal. My goal is to help individuals and families understand their relational patterns, navigate conflict more effectively, and become more congruent and intentional communicators.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, depression, ADHD, substance use concerns and relapse prevention, grief and trauma, and bipolar disorders. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in helping clients feel safe, understood, and empowered as they move through life’s challenges.
Additionally, I specialize in autism-related family dynamics, caregiver burnout, and identity transitions. I am the author of Dear Single Mother: A Journal of Autism, Isolation, and Self-Discovery, a reflective work that explores resilience and meaning-making through lived experience. While my writing reflects personal insight, my clinical work is rooted in systemic, trauma-informed care that honors both evidence-based practice and each client's unique experiences in the therapy room.
Do you feel isolated, alone, and misunderstood as a woman struggling with alcohol, anxiety, or self-worth?
Do you find yourself stuck in the same patterns—overdrinking, people-pleasing, or self-sabotaging—even when you want change?
Is it hard to slow down, be present, or sit with your thoughts—without reaching for distraction or alcohol?
Do you feel as if you are always in “go mode,” even when you’re exhausted?
Are you focused on others’ needs instead of your own?
Are you hesitant to talk to others about your problems?
I believe that meaningful change begins with understanding and self-compassion. You already carry the capacity for growth and healing, but sometimes we need support to recognize it. Therapy offers a fresh perspective to help you break free from old patterns, develop new skills, and respond more intentionally to life’s challenges.
My goal is to create a warm, nonjudgmental environment where curiosity replaces self-criticism, and where your strengths, resilience, and well-being are at the center of the work we do together.
Social work chose me! When I wrote my personal essay for my MSW, I realized social work had always surrounded me. I remember helping elderly neighbors, teaching friends how to count money, and researching services for my autistic brother. There were so many events between those gaps and yet to come. I always desired to help people. My brother’s diagnosis widened my eyes to my calling, but life had other plans for me and I became a secretary. As a secretary, I found myself being hired in the mental health arena, including the areas of AIDS research, mental health, addiction services, and college counseling. Social work is my second career but it's always been my first passion. I pull from both my personal and professional experiences and allow these experiences to teach and mold me.
Hello, I go by Jah, I’m passionate about helping people find hope, healing, and strength through life’s most challenging moments. In my work, I support clients experiencing depression, anxiety, OCD, grief, trauma, and major life transitions. My approach is warm, collaborative, and deeply compassionate — grounded in evidence-based therapies that help you reconnect with your confidence and inner calm.
Together, we’ll create a safe space where you feel understood and supported as you heal, grow, and rediscover the parts of yourself that may have been lost along the way. My greatest reward is witnessing my clients find peace, resilience, and a renewed sense of purpose in their lives.
