Nice to meet you- I'm Matt, a licensed mental health counselor (LMHC) with more than eight years of experience in the mental health field. The foundation of my approach is rooted in building connection and trust- if you are looking for someone you who is a mix of compassionate and direct, I believe I can support you in finding ways to navigate your pain, whether emotional or physical. My priority is to be there for you and understand your concerns, and needs, by creating a safe, nonjudgmental space to explore your thoughts and feelings. I started off as a nurse and decided to return to school and get a masters in counseling psychology. I spent more than 25 years in addiction, including the years I spent as a nurse (11 years). I also have been a clinical supervisor and director of substance abuse programs, which made me realize I love working with clients individually and went into private practice. I have been in practice for 7 years, although I'm just returning to this level of care January 2023 I have worked all those years with clients suffering from trauma, anxiety and relationship issues.
