I am a licensed independent practice-level clinical social worker. I have a Diplomate in Clinical Social Work DCSW. I have dedicated my career to working in behavioral health treatment. I have worked within the Department of Defense Schools in Europe and Asia. I have worked with Active Duty members, Veterans and their families. Prior to joining the Civil Service, I practiced mental health within the civilian community, my focus there was substance abuse, domestic violence and and a variety of mental health issues working with adolescents and adults. My strongest ability lies in helping a client identify strengths and weaknesses while guiding them to identify goals and interventions that will work specifically for them. The most challenging part of therapy is believing it will make a difference. The best way to overcome that hurdle is to see successful outcomes. Clinical experience has taught me that if you are willing to do the work, you will see results. Using the appropriate interventions, combined with mutual openness, respect and trust will enable you to overcome obstacles and achieve goals you didn't believe possible. Through years of dedicated work with all age groups, life experiences and extremely challenging circumstances, I have developed a strong sense of commitment in creating a safe and supportive environment that fosters healing, self-awareness and growth.

My name is Jennifer Bailey, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Drama Therapist. I help clients identify and pursue the goals that lead to a life filled with meaning, pride, and contentment. Now, you may be wondering: “What exactly is a Registered Drama Therapist (RDT)?” Simply put, it means I integrate elements of theater and creative expression into the therapeutic process. With me, you have options. You might choose a traditional talk-therapy session to explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals. Or, if words don’t feel like enough, you might try something more experiential—writing, movement, role-play, or even reimagining and practicing conversations that keep replaying in your mind. Talk therapy is a powerful tool for growth, but sometimes it takes more than words to truly process what’s happening inside. That’s where creativity can open new doors. Whether through conversation, movement, sound, or artistic expression, I provide a space where you can choose what feels most healing and helpful. I would be honored to support you—whether that’s working toward personal goals, processing difficult emotions, or making positive and lasting changes in your life.

I aim to understand your needs, strengths, and values to create a personalized plan that aligns with your goals and fosters positive change. I have also had the pleasure of supporting single mothers as they navigate the emotional impact of motherhood, mental health issues, financial stress, and building a support system. I graduated from the University of Georgia's MSW program in 1993 and became an LCSW in 1996. I have worked in home health and hospice for most of my career with a strong emphasis on geriatrics and dementia care. I have experience in inpatient psychiatric settings and residential services as well. I am looking to fill a niche that I have seen wanting attention for some time. For many years I have seen elders and their families in their homes but had to refer out any counseling other than crisis intervention to outpatient therapists. The problem is that I have been referring homebound people for outpatient therapy. This is not effective for many reasons. With the help of Grow Therapy, I intend to offer my services of counseling and case management to people in the comfort of their own homes. I will become a mobile mental health provider to serve a population that has gone largely underserved for all too long. My coverage area for in-home therapy will be Lee, Russell, and Chambers counties in Alabama as well as Muscogee, Chattahoochee, and Harris Counties in Georgia. I am opening up limited appointment times for virtual counseling as of mid May 2024.

In the mental health field since 1992, I value the opportunity to help individuals navigate life’s challenges with compassion and understanding. As a Christian, my faith shapes my values of empathy, respect, and genuine care for others. I strive to create a safe, supportive environment where every client feels welcomed, heard, and encouraged toward healing and growth. Outside of counseling, I’m a wife, mother, and grandmother who loves spending time with family—and I share my home with two very spoiled chihuahuas who always make me smile.

I am a clinical social worker with a decade of experience supporting adolescents, adults, and older adults through life's most pressing challenges. Before transitioning into clinical practice, I worked within organizations helping employees navigate workplace stress and the broader life issues that often accompany it. My own life transition during that time deepened my appreciation for the courage it takes to seek support, and I now draw on those transferable skills alongside my academic and work experiences as a master's in social work and doctorate in organizational behavior professional. I bring a compassionate, integrative, and culturally responsive approach that meets each client where they are, helping you build meaningful coping skills, deepen self-understanding, and move toward sustainable change.
