About me

Hello! Hola! My name is Melissa Fuentes and I am a bicultural and bilingual (English/ Spanish) Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Southern California (San Diego). I received my Masters from California State University San Marcos in 2018. I am here to assist you through your daily stressors, grief, depression, and/or anxiety. My clinical expertise is focused on depression, life stressors, grief, loss, and trauma. I make an effort to provide a safe environment for my patient to help them feel empowered and be able to share their experiences and challenges. Together, we can identify unhealthy thought patterns that will assist in developing better coping mechanisms to be able to foster a healing environment where growth is promoted. I commend you for taking the initial step toward your healing journey and look forward to working with you.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During the first session, an in-depth bio-psychosocial assessment will take place where I will invite you to open up and share your current challenges. We will discuss your overall goals and identify an individualized treatment plan. I aim to establish rapport and work collaboratively to build a trusting relationship with the overall goal of identifying goals and resilience to overcome your challenges.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I take pride and take the time to treat each one of my patients with the dignity, respect, and compassion they deserve regardless of what challenges they are facing.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is a common treatment method I use as it is beneficial for patients to identify how their thought patterns have an impact on their behaviors and emotions. One of the goals is to identify problem solving techniques to be able to overcome and challenge your maladaptive thought patterns.
