In my first session with my clients, I will start with brief introductions as a PMHNP. I will explain the role and how I can help my clients. The reasons for the visit, including any symptoms, concerns, or issues the client is experiencing. I will take a detailed history, including medical, psychiatric, and family history, to understand the background and any factors that might be influencing mental health.
As a Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) with over five years of experience, I have several key strengths that make me an effective provider. My clinical expertise, developed through extensive experience, has given me a deep understanding of psychiatric disorders, treatment modalities, and evidence-based practices, enabling me to provide high-quality care tailored to each patient's unique needs. Additionally, my empathy, holistic approach, strong communication skills, adaptability, patient advocacy, and resilience further enhance my ability to deliver comprehensive and compassionate mental health care.
My ideal client spans from preteens to older adults, connected by shared experiences of emotional overwhelm, anxiety, depression, trauma‑related stress, or challenges navigating life transitions. They may be a middle‑schooler struggling with identity and social pressure, a young adult facing anxiety and self‑doubt, a midlife adult managing burnout or recurring relationship patterns, or an older adult coping with loss, loneliness, or shifting roles. Across all ages, they tend to be insightful yet unsure how to break unhelpful cycles, motivated for growth but weighed down by stress, perfectionism, or unresolved emotional pain. Their therapy goals often include understanding and regulating emotions, building self‑worth, healing relational wounds, strengthening boundaries, improving coping skills, and reconnecting with a sense of purpose and authenticity—ultimately seeking a space where they feel seen, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change at any stage of life.

I identify as
Mind-body approach
I collaborate with clients to pinpoint specific issues and establish realistic goals. This process may involve exploring the client's background, current challenges, and therapy objectives. I assist clients in identifying and understanding their negative or distorted thought patterns, which can be done through activities like maintaining a reflective journal or participating in exercises that bring these patterns to light. I also incorporate behavioral techniques to help clients modify their behavior. This might include exposure therapy for anxiety, scheduling activities for depression, or practicing new skills in real-world scenarios. We regularly review progress and adjust the treatment plan to ensure its effectiveness.
