I will help you get to know yourself again, and take back control of your life. Someone who suffers from anxiety, depression, or trauma can feel trapped, and feel they can't see there way out. They struggle with all types of symptoms such as constant worries, overthinking, sadness, loss of pleasure, isolating, forgetfulness, flashbacks, etc., and tend to find themselves only getting worse. My ideal clients are those that are seeking results in making positive changes with their mental health and being willing to put in the work to do so by learning skills such as relaxation, mindfulness, and even setting a routine to help one have more structure in their life. Our mental health does not have to feel as though it is debilitating. My name is Keshia Bell, and I want to be able to help you in working through the negatives and finding your way to a better you. I have a Master's in Psychology, am a Licensed MFT, and have been providing therapy to clients for 13 years now. I work with clients from all aspects of life, and provide a safe place to allow for my clients to feel heard and work through what they are dealing with.
In our first session together we will introduce ourselves, and I will discuss mandates such as confidentiality and the limits of confidentiality. A short intake will take place in order to gather information as to why you are seeking treatment, and we will develop a treatment plan together.
Some of my greatest strengths are working with clients who have experienced traumatic events from car accidents and disasters to abuse, and anything in between. I also have strengths in working with clients who need support with parenting, or symptoms of anxiety and/or depression.
I offer services to parents, individuals of all ages, couples, and families. I specialize in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), parenting, couples therapy, and Evidenced Based Practices such as: Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Triple P, Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT), and Managing and Adapting Practices (MAP). The treatment approach depends on your needs.
CBT is used in order to help the client recognize how feelings and behaviors are affected by one's thoughts. CBT will provide coping skills to help one deal with the problems that they are struggling with, and work towards changing negative thinking patterns.
Couples Counseling is provided in order to help couples in finding better ways of communicating and help the couple work through interpersonal relationships.
PCIT is used to help parents and children continue to work on building a more positive relationship. The parents will gain skills such as praise, reflections, active ignore, time outs, etc. which in turn will help the child in recognizing that the positive interaction is better than the negative one; and will lead to more positive behaviors from the child as opposed to negative ones.
TF-CBT is used to help the client learn coping skills to help in dealing with the trauma that they have endured. Eventually the client will work on a narrative where they can express/explain there thoughts and feelings while also being able to process through those with the help of the therapist.
