As a dual board-certified Psychiatric and Family Nurse Practitioner with over 15 years of healthcare experience, I am passionate about helping individuals achieve both mental and physical well-being. With a background in hospital and home care settings, I have spent the last 9 years specializing in psychiatric and family healthcare, providing comprehensive, compassionate care that addresses the whole person. I understand that mental health is complex, and I am committed to guiding individuals through challenges such as anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, and stress. I recognize the powerful connection between the mind and body, where medical conditions can often mask or intertwine with underlying mental health issues, requiring a careful, tailored approach to treatment. In my practice, I prioritize a thorough, accurate diagnosis as the foundation for creating an individualized treatment plan. Whether it’s through medication management, psychotherapy, or lifestyle and dietary modifications, I work collaboratively with each client to help them regain control, overcome obstacles, and achieve a life of balance and wellness. My goal is to empower you to live with purpose, clarity, and resilience. If you're ready to take the first step toward better mental health and well-being, I invite you to learn more about how I can support your journey. What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session, we will start with an introduction and discuss the specific challenges you're currently facing. I will gather information regarding your medical, psychiatric, and social history to gain a comprehensive understanding of your overall well-being. This will allow me to conduct a thorough diagnostic evaluation and begin formulating an initial treatment plan tailored to your individual needs. Our focus will be on creating a safe and supportive environment where we can explore your concerns and outline the next steps toward achieving your mental health and wellness goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My greatest strengths as a provider lie in my ability to create personalized treatment plans that prioritize collaboration and actively involve clients in their care decisions. I am committed to fostering an open, empathetic environment where clients feel comfortable expressing their thoughts, feelings, and concerns. By encouraging honest communication, I ensure that we work together to develop an accurate diagnosis and a treatment plan that aligns with each client’s unique needs and goals. I specialize in the treatment of anxiety, depression, PTSD, anger management, bipolar disorder, phobias, and stress management, with a focus on providing comprehensive, individualized care that supports long-term well-being. In my practice, I utilize a range of evidence-based treatment methods and tools that are tailored to each client’s unique needs. This includes medication management with various antidepressants, mood stabilizers, and anti-anxiety medications, while EXCLUDING benzodiazepines (Ativan, Xanax, Clonazepam) and other Schedule II medications. I DO NOT PRESCRIBE STIMULANTS for ADHD but instead use alternative methods such as CBD, hypnotherapy, and lifestyle modifications to support treatment. Additionally, I incorporate various forms of psychotherapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to address specific mental health conditions and promote emotional well-being. Lifestyle and dietary changes are also an integral part of my holistic approach, as I recognize the crucial link between physical and psychological health. To ensure a comprehensive understanding of each client’s condition, I conduct thorough assessments that consider their medical history, psychological background, and current life circumstances, enabling me to create a personalized treatment plan that effectively supports their journey toward healing.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I am best positioned to serve individuals seeking a holistic approach to mental and physical health. My ideal clients are those facing anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, OCD, and stress, who are looking for a personalized treatment plan. I work with clients who are open to exploring the connection between mental health and lifestyle, and who appreciate a collaborative approach that includes medication management, psychotherapy, and practical lifestyle adjustments. My goal is to empower individuals to manage their symptoms and achieve lasting well-being through a comprehensive, tailored treatment plan.

My treatment methods

Hypnotherapy

I am a certified clinical hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy is a powerful therapeutic approach that uses hypnosis to help individuals make positive changes in their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Through a relaxed and focused state, hypnotherapy allows access to the subconscious mind, where long-held beliefs, patterns, and emotional responses are stored. During a session, the hypnotherapist guides the client into this state to identify and address underlying issues that may be influencing their current challenges. By engaging the subconscious mind, we can work together to unlock the individual’s creativity, intuition, and inner strength, helping them overcome obstacles, heal from past traumas, or release unwanted habits and behaviors. Hypnotherapy is a safe and collaborative process, tailored to each person’s unique goals and comfort level. It’s effective for a wide range of issues, including stress, anxiety, self-confidence, and personal growth, and it empowers clients to make lasting changes in their lives.

Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP)

In my practice, I incorporate Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP) techniques within Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to enhance the therapeutic process. By combining these two powerful approaches, I help clients reframe unproductive thought patterns, overcome limiting beliefs, and develop healthier behaviors. CBT focuses on identifying and challenging negative thoughts and behaviors, while NLP adds an extra layer by exploring the connection between language, thought processes, and habitual behaviors. Using NLP techniques within CBT, I support clients in creating positive shifts in their thinking, strengthening emotional resilience, and building a foundation for lasting change. This integrative approach is particularly effective in addressing issues like anxiety, self-confidence, and goal-setting, empowering clients to reach their full potential with a toolkit of practical strategies and insights.

Motivational Interviewing

I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients resolve ambivalence and identify their motivations for positive change. By creating a safe, non-judgmental space, I collaborate with clients to explore their values, goals, and the gap between their current behaviors and desired outcomes, guiding them with empathetic listening and thoughtful questioning. MI empowers clients to discover their internal drive and build confidence in their ability to make lasting changes. I focus on helping clients explore the pros and cons of their current behaviors, while emphasizing their strengths and resources. This process helps individuals become more aware of their own readiness for change, allowing them to take meaningful, sustainable steps toward their goals at their own pace. Whether addressing health goals, relationship issues, or personal growth, MI helps clients overcome barriers, increase self-efficacy, and foster a sense of ownership over their journey to change.
