I am an engaging, down to earth, empathetic, philosophical, and supportive therapist. I have experience in multiple treatment settings. I can provide a space to feel safe, communicate honestly, be emotionally supported, heard, not pressured, and provide a space for comfort/relaxation. Additionally, I can provide clinical suggestions, respectfully challenge you when appropriate, and assist you in attaining your goals. I am genuinely invested in exploring the human condition and believe everyone can benefit from an objective therapist to process information with.
What you can expect from a first session is a general overview of what brings you to therapy and what you would like to accomplish. Additionally, general information about the therapeutic process will be provided as needed, including but not limited to, consent forms, treatment goals, scheduling details, and more. The ultimate goal is to begin building a therapeutic rapport by having an open conversation and identifying some of your goals and strengths.
I'm multi-faceted, a good listener, insightful, supportive, empathetic, emotionally supportive. I have a diverse background in multiple clinical settings, working with patients in person and via Telehealth for therapy. I also have experience in inpatient hospital settings where I'm know to establish rapport with patients and families.
I truly enjoy working with a vast array of patients that are taking the valiant step to address something in their lives. I have experience treating family/relationship conflict, anxiety, depression, grief and loss, life transitions, addictions, bi-polar, schizophrenia, psychosis, life stressors, trauma, and more.
Psychodynamic
Foremost, I use a person centered approach along with psychodynamic therapy to discuss your treatment goals with you and gradually address them with you based on the information provided.
Motivational Interviewing
This approach is partly a conversational style I use to explore your treatment goals and your motivation towards them.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I utilize CBT as a way to provide psycho-education, therapeutic conversation, and to assist in understanding and challenging maladaptive thought patterns.
Dialectical Behavior (DBT)
I provide psycho-education and encourage development of DBT skills to assist in attaining your treatment goals when appropriate.
Family Therapy
I provide family and/or relationship therapy to assist in obtaining your treatment goals as applicable.
