I am a License Marriage and Family Therapist, currently only licensed to practice in California. I completed my MFT graduate program at Fresno Pacific University. I am completed my undergraduate education at Cal Poly, SLO Alumni (Go Mustangs)! I provide clinical services, in person and via tele-health to clients who are seeking to heal and grow from traumatic experiences, losses, or those who are experiencing emotional challenges that do not allow themselves to show up as their best selves in relationships.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, we will begin with introductions, discuss process of therapy, answer any questions about therapy you may have. During the first session I am getting to know your needs, goals for therapy, your strengths, but also you are getting to know me as a clinician and assessing if I am the person you want to continue collaborating in therapy.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I work from a strength based perspective, I work hard in understanding how your strengths can assist you in healing. I believe that all person I work with have the ability to grow and heal if they have healthy social support.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with clients of all ages from 16 and older who are interested in healing from emotional wounds, who struggle with creating healthy relationships with others and themselves, who are questioning their faith due to trauma or losses, who are interested in integrating their faith or spiritual beliefs in their therapeutic work.

My treatment methods

Attachment-based

I work with client in therapy to help them identify and create healthy relationships with themselves and others. Attachment based therapy (a trauma-informed therapy modality) can help treat mood and anxiety disorders, trauma, and childhood wounds.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I utilized CBT to assist client in learning about the connection between our thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Additionally, I assist client to understand how our behaviors impact our relationship with self, others. CBT is evidenced based modality that can assist client in building adaptive or healthy coping skills to understand difficult emotions, cognitive distortions.

Culturally Sensitive Therapy

In my work I use and assist client in exploring how their culture, cultural practices, values, ideas impact a person's mood disorder. Also, as a clinician I work to understand how a person's cultural can be supportive to the client. If a client is practicing certain activities or traditions that support their mental health and well-being, I am open to integrating them in treatment if applicable.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I utilize TF-CBT to assist client in healing from traumatic experiences.

Trauma Informed Care

I utilize trauma-informed care strives to minimized the likelihood that a person will be re-traumatized by systems of care and service providers, including therapist. In my relationship with the client I would toward creating safety within the therapeutic relationship, create trust within the therapist/client relationship, give client choices about their treatment (pace treatment), work in collaborative manner with the client, and empower the client to create hope and help client build resiliency skills.
