I am an ANCC-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner with a diverse clinical background across multiple mental health settings. I am dedicated to providing comprehensive psychiatric assessments, offering psychoeducation, and delivering evidence-based interventions, including medication management and supportive therapy. My practice is neurodivergent-affirming and grounded in empathy, cultural sensitivity, and strong therapeutic communication. I strive to create a safe, supportive, and empowering environment where individuals feel understood and encouraged to address their mental health needs. I provide care across the lifespan, supporting children, adolescents, and adults with a wide range of mental health concerns. I collaborate closely with patients, families, and other healthcare providers to develop personalized treatment plans that promote emotional stability, functional improvement, and overall well-being. I have strong clinical experience in assessing, diagnosing, and treating complex mental health conditions, including ADHD, autism-related concerns, anxiety disorders, depression, trauma, mood disorders, and behavioral challenges. My goal is to create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can openly share your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Taking the first step toward mental health care can feel overwhelming, but I am here to guide and support you at every stage of your journey. Together, we will work toward greater emotional balance, resilience, and an improved quality of life.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

1. Establishing Trust and Connection: I will begin by introducing myself, clarifying my role in your care, and creating a welcoming, supportive space where you feel at ease and understood. 2. Reviewing Your Medical and Psychiatric Background: I will gather information about your medical and psychiatric history, including any previous treatments, medications, hospitalizations, therapy experiences, and family history of mental health conditions. 3. Exploring Current Symptoms and Concerns: We will discuss the challenges you’re currently facing, such as your symptoms and how they affect your daily life. This includes reviewing your mood, thoughts, behaviors, sleep patterns, appetite, and other relevant aspects of your well-being. 4. Conducting a Mental Status Assessment: I will perform a mental status examination to observe and evaluate factors like your appearance, behavior, speech, mood, thought patterns, cognitive function, and level of insight. 5. Utilizing Screening Tools: To gain a clearer understanding of specific concerns, I may use standardized questionnaires or tools to evaluate symptoms related to conditions such as depression, anxiety, or substance use. 6. Discussing Diagnosis and Treatment Options: After completing the evaluation, I will share my findings, discuss possible diagnoses, and outline treatment options. This may include medication management, therapy recommendations, lifestyle adjustments, and a plan for ongoing care. 7. Collaborative Goal Setting and Treatment Planning: Together, we will identify your treatment goals and design a plan tailored to meet your unique needs. Your input is essential in ensuring the plan aligns with your preferences and priorities. 8. Providing Education and Resources: I will explain your diagnosis and treatment options in detail and offer resources such as educational materials, referrals to specialists, or information about support groups to help you navigate your care. 9. Addressing Your Questions and Concerns: You will have the opportunity to ask questions or voice any concerns about your diagnosis or treatment plan. I will ensure that your questions are answered so you feel informed, supported, and confident moving forward. The initial evaluation is designed to gain a comprehensive understanding of your needs and lay the foundation for your care.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are my ability to combine clinical expertise with genuine compassion and lived understanding. As a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner, I take a whole-person, trauma-informed approach that looks beyond symptoms to understand each client’s story, strengths, environment, and goals. What sets my work apart is my neurodivergent-affirming and developmentally informed care. I tailor treatment to the individual rather than forcing a one-size-fits-all model, whether I’m working with children, adolescents, or adults. I prioritize collaboration, education, and practical strategies clients can apply in their daily lives—not just medication changes. Clients often tell me they feel truly heard, respected, and empowered in our work together. I focus on creating a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients gain clarity, confidence, and sustainable tools for emotional regulation, resilience, and long-term growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to support children, adolescents, and adults who are seeking compassionate, thoughtful mental health care and want to better understand themselves—not just manage symptoms. Many of my clients are navigating ADHD, autism, anxiety, trauma, PTSD, mood disorders, life transitions, or burnout, and are looking for care that is collaborative, respectful, and individualized. I especially work well with neurodivergent individuals and families who want a provider that affirms differences rather than pathologizes them. Parents often come to me seeking guidance, education, and practical strategies to support their child’s emotional regulation, behavior, and overall well-being. My ideal clients are open to a holistic approach that may include medication management, supportive therapy, skill-building, and psychoeducation. Whether you are a parent advocating for your child or an adult seeking clarity, balance, and growth, I aim to partner with you to create sustainable progress and meaningful change.

Chinwe is very kind and had good indention and definitely wants to help. However, I felt like there was no preparation for our meeting. I was asked some screener questions 2 or even 3 times during my meeting and was asked to repeat what medications i had used more and what my diagnosis and history of diagnosis were twice. Perhaps she was distracted or it was an off day, but I felt like I wasn't being listened to.
