PMHNP, 2 years of experience
I’m a psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner who is pursuing doctorate at the University of Pennsylvania, specializing in medication management and evidence-based therapy, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I work with adults struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, and other mood-related concerns. My approach is patient-centered, compassionate, and focused on helping you feel understood, supported, and empowered to create meaningful change.
In our first session, clients can expect a supportive and judgment-free space where we’ll begin by exploring what brought them in and what they hope to gain from treatment. I’ll take a comprehensive history—covering mental health, medical background, lifestyle, and current concerns—so I can fully understand their experience. We’ll also begin discussing a personalized plan that may include therapy, medication, or both, depending on their needs and preferences. Most importantly, clients can expect to feel heard, respected, and actively involved in shaping their care.
My greatest strengths as a provider are my ability to build trust quickly, my commitment to truly listening without judgment, and my strong clinical foundation grounded in evidence-based practice. I bring both compassion and clarity to each session, helping clients feel safe while also guiding them toward meaningful change. My education at the University of Pennsylvania shaped my focus on combining thoughtful medication management with therapeutic support, ensuring each treatment plan is both personalized and effective.
I am best positioned to serve adults who are navigating challenges with anxiety, depression, ADHD, and stress-related conditions. Many of my clients are high-functioning individuals managing complex emotional experiences who are seeking both structured therapeutic support and thoughtful medication management. I also work well with clients who may have tried other treatments in the past and are now looking for a more collaborative, personalized approach to their mental health care.
As an Ivy League-educated (University of Pennsylvania) provider, I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice as a foundational treatment approach. CBT allows me to help patients develop greater awareness of the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, and empowers them to build healthier coping strategies. I find this method especially effective for individuals managing depression, anxiety, trauma, and stress-related disorders. In my sessions, I work collaboratively with each patient to identify distorted thought patterns, challenge cognitive distortions, and replace them with more adaptive perspectives. I also integrate behavioral techniques such as activity scheduling, exposure, and skills training to support lasting change. My goal is always to create a structured yet compassionate environment where patients can develop tools to manage their symptoms and improve their quality of life. CBT has consistently proven to be a highly effective and evidence-based modality in my clinical experience, and I continue to use it as a core component of individualized, patient-centered care.

Though, I am weary of Dr. Kim's tapering plan, I do believe he has my best interests in mind.
