I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nine years of experience working with individuals ages 15 and up. I offer a warm, collaborative space where clients can slow down, feel supported, and begin to better understand themselves on a deeper level. My work is rooted in helping clients identify and shift long-standing patterns and core beliefs that may be keeping them stuck. I take a trauma-informed, mind-body approach, recognizing that our experiences live not only in our thoughts, but in our nervous system and physical responses as well. Together, we explore both insight and felt experience to support meaningful, lasting change. I believe therapy is most effective when it goes beyond symptom relief and gently gets to the root of what’s underneath. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, past trauma, relationship challenges, or a general sense of overwhelm, I work alongside you to build awareness, resilience, and a stronger sense of connection to yourself. My goal is to help you feel more grounded, empowered, and aligned in your life.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session together you can expect a brief introduction. It is important for me to get to know you through conversation and get to know you beyond your current struggles. I typically have the first few session be focused more so on assessment to gather a thorough history and current stressors.

The treatment methods and tools I utilize

I utilize evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Psychodynamic and EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Response). I also regularly utilize body-based practices as additional skills to help regulate the nervous system.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My specialties include trauma, anxiety, depression, anxiety disorders, grief, college-age students, life transitions and relational distress.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I work with teens, young adults, and women primarily navigating periods of transition, relational issues, and emotional overwhelm. Many of my clients are beginning to recognize patterns in their relationships, thoughts, or behaviors that no longer serve them—often rooted in early life experiences, attachment dynamics, or unresolved trauma. I take an attachment-focused approach to help clients better understand how their relationships and sense of self have been shaped over time, and how those patterns continue to show up in the present. I also support individuals moving through midlife transitions, where old roles, beliefs, and ways of coping start to feel misaligned. My ideal client is curious, open to self-exploration, and ready to look beneath the surface to better understand themselves, heal at the root, and create more intentional, fulfilling ways of living.

I have been working with Shaunie for almost 3 years and she is the just the best! She has a very warm energy that makes you feel very comfortable and she helps you create simple and effective solutions to your issues. She has helped me through major life changes and with my general anxiety. I am a 24 year old girl and if you are like me and get overwhelmed easily, she is a great resource to have. 10/10 recommend.

she was kind and gave small bits of feedback to let me know she heard me and digested what I said without any bias or putting any ideas/opinions on me
