Hi, I’m Christie Dooley, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I’ve learned sometimes we must experience discomfort to meet growth. Beginning that journey can be a heavy step to take, but rest assured, I’m here to provide you with a safe, supportive space, where you're free to be yourself to gain the clarity you deserve and become the person you’re meant to be. My Master of Arts Degree in Psychology has allowed me the opportunities to work in the private practice sector and substance abuse treatment facilities, where I gained experience working with; Anxiety, Adjustment Disorders, Addiction, Communication Issues, Grief/Loss, Relationship Issues and Substance Abuse. I have specialized training in working with trauma. I’m a certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) therapist. I can offer a holistic, mindfulness-based form of client-centered - talk therapy, collaborating with you to set goals that meet your needs. As a Telehealth Provider, I’m equipped to offer engaging therapy sessions supported by a HIPPA-compliant secure platform. I can offer evening appointments upon request. Please feel free to contact me for a free 15-minute consultation. Self-Pay (cash) clients will pay $120/per individual session or $150/per couple session. I am also willing to negotiate a sliding scale fee payment for qualifying cases. Also, times for later sessions can be discussed and accommodated.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

You can expect a warm, supportive, and nonjudgmental space to begin your therapeutic journey. We will start by discussing your reasons for seeking therapy, your personal history, and any specific challenges you're facing. I will introduce my therapeutic approach, which integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and psychodynamic principles, and explain how our work together can support your goals. This session is also an opportunity for you to ask questions, share your concerns, and begin setting intentions for your healing process. My goal is to create a safe and collaborative environment where you feel heard, understood, and empowered to take the next steps toward personal growth and well-being.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

As a provider my strength lies in my ability to create a safe and trusting therapeutic relationship. I understand how difficult it can be to open up to someone you barely know, which is why I take the time to build a strong foundation of trust and connection with my clients. I believe that true healing and meaningful change happen when clients feel genuinely heard, supported, and understood. By fostering a collaborative and nonjudgmental space, I empower individuals to explore their challenges, develop new insights, and create lasting personal growth. I look forward to hearing from you so we can begin your journey together.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Adults 18-65+. I am best positioned to serve individuals in substance use disorder (SUD) recovery, providing support in maintaining sobriety, managing cravings, and developing healthy coping strategies. I also work with individuals struggling with grief and loss, helping them process emotions and navigate their healing journey. My expertise includes treating anxiety, guiding clients in reducing excessive worry and stress while building emotional resilience. Additionally, I help individuals improve communication skills, enhance self-esteem, and adjust to life transitions. I also support clients in navigating relationship challenges, fostering healthier connections, and developing stronger interpersonal skills. My approach is compassionate, evidence-based, and tailored to each client's unique needs.

My treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I take a DBT-informed approach to support clients in building healthier coping strategies and creating meaningful change in their lives. I integrate mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness skills to help clients navigate challenges, manage cravings, and develop greater self-awareness. By fostering a nonjudgmental and compassionate environment, I empower individuals to recognize their strengths, improve emotional resilience, and work toward lasting recovery and personal growth.

Psychodynamic

I incorporate a psychodynamic approach to help clients explore the deeper patterns, emotions, and unconscious influences that shape their thoughts and behaviors. By creating a safe and supportive space, I encourage self-reflection and insight into past experiences that may impact present challenges. Through this process, clients gain a greater understanding of themselves, develop healthier relationships, and work toward lasting emotional growth and healing.
