Hi, welcome! I'm a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist based in Southern California. As an LA native, I've been involved in the mental health field for 15 years, working with teens, adults and couples who experienced various mental health issues. My main intention is to provide a safe, therapeutic space to discover who you are and support you to thrive by living in your authentic truth.
In your first session with me, you can expect a welcoming and non-judgmental space where we explore your unique story and the factors that led you to seek therapy. I'm genuinely curious about your experiences and perspectives, aiming to understand your goals for therapy. Together, we'll collaboratively chart a path towards healing and growth, utilizing a blend of trauma-informed care, spiritual principles, and evidence-based modalities to tailor our sessions to your individual needs. My goal is to create a therapeutic alliance that supports you in achieving the positive outcomes you seek in your journey.
As a provider, my greatest strengths lie in fostering a compassionate and supportive therapeutic environment. I excel in creating a space where clients feel heard, validated, and understood as we navigate their unique journeys. I am dedicated to collaboration, actively engaging with clients to explore and implement effective strategies for achieving their therapeutic goals. Overall, my strengths revolve around cultivating a trusting therapeutic alliance and guiding individuals towards transformative growth.
I specialize in working with individuals who are seeking support in processing life's challenges and overcoming emotional blockages. My ideal clients are those open to exploring the integration of spiritual and universal principles within the therapeutic space. Utilizing trauma-informed care modalities, I aim to provide a nurturing environment for clients to navigate their personal journeys, fostering healing and personal growth.
I am also clinically trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), which is a highly effective and evidence-based approach for trauma resolution. Using eye movements or other bilateral stimulations, EMDR helps process traumatic experiences, reduce distress, and promote healing.
I come from a psychodynamics orientation in my practice, meaning we look at the subconscious patterns of behavior/thought process and bring it to our awareness.
At times, our minds may not recall what events triggered us, but all the memories are stored in our bodies. This is where I incorporate mindfulness and a somatic approach into therapy sessions in which we observe what is happening with the body in the present moment as we share stories from our past.
