New to Grow
Hi there! I applaud your courage in reaching out. I am a Licenced Marriage and Family Therapist with 30 years experience working with individuals, children, couples and families. I am a Stanford graduate with a Master's in Psychology from California Institute of Integral Studies. I offer compassionate listening, presence and guidance for people in crisis, transition, or who are seeking healing, growth, clarity, and connection. All communications are confidential. My experience covers a spectrum of clients and settings. I have provided therapy in day treatment facilities, schools, hospitals, and in private practice. I take a Humanistic/person centered approach to therapy and strongly believe that you have the tools you need to heal and achieve your goals, and that I can help support you in this process. I focus on your strengths and am a supportive and empathetic listener. My therapy style is collaborative in which you and I work together to discover creative solutions to presenting problems. My work draws from the counseling theories and styles of Carl Rogers, Virginia Satir and Murray Bowen. Seeking help takes courage. I honor this and will treat you with the respect and warmth you deserve. I am here to help you "live well and be happy"!
In our first session, we will discuss any past experiences you have had with therapy. We will explore what brings you to therapy and your goals for yourself: what do you hope to get out of our time together? You can ask any questions and I will answer the best I can. I may ask some background questions to give some context to your present experiences. This is a time to create a safe and supportive space for you to explore and to begin your healing process at a pace that is comfortable for you.
What stands out most about my approach as a person-centered therapist is my ability to create a safe, nonjudgmental space where clients feel genuinely seen and heard. I focus on building trust, authenticity, and collaboration from the beginning. My methods are rooted in empathy, active listening, and meeting clients where they are, while also helping them identify practical goals and patterns that support growth. I involve clients in the healing process in a way that feels personalized and empowering. In terms of results, clients often report increased self-awareness, self-esteem, improved emotional regulation, stronger confidence in decision-making, and feeling more equipped to navigate challenges independently. As one client put it: "I am myself but with an anti-virus installed, because I now have tools to guide me and a firewall to protect me."
My ideal clients are individuals who may be feeling overwhelmed, stuck, anxious, disconnected, or uncertain about their next steps in life. They may struggle with self-esteem, self-criticism, relationships, stress, life transitions, or emotional overwhelm, and are looking for a supportive, nonjudgmental space to better understand themselves and create meaningful change. Together, we focus on building self-awareness, emotional safety, self-compassion, and healthier relationships.
I identify as
Person-centered (Rogerian)
My approach is collaborative, nonjudgmental, and guided by your goals and experiences. I’m here to support your self-understanding and growth and to help you connect with your authentic self.
