Neda Rivera
I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist dedicated to helping individuals reclaim peace, healing, overcome challenges, and build stronger, healthier relationships. With experience in both clinical and correctional mental health, I offer a compassionate, culturally responsive, and solution-focused approach. Whether you’re navigating trauma, striving for greater emotional balance, or seeking support through life’s transitions, I provide honesty, care, and practical tools that empower meaningful and lasting change.
First session
In our first session, my priority is to create a welcoming, safe space where you can begin sharing what has brought you to therapy. We’ll talk through your concerns, explore your goals, and I’ll ask questions to better understand your background, values, and hopes for our work together. This session is also your opportunity to ask questions and get a sense of my style. There’s no pressure to go too deep right away—we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable and respectful to you. My focus is on building a strong, collaborative relationship from the start so that you feel supported, understood, and ready to begin your journey toward meaningful change.
Strengths
One of my greatest strengths is creating a safe, honest, and understanding space where clients feel truly seen, heard, and supported. I combine evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Solution-Focused Therapy, Inner-Child work with genuine connection and practical tools that can be applied in daily life. My style is grounded and compassionate, while also being direct when clarity is needed. Whether you are working through trauma, rebuilding trust in yourself, or navigating overwhelming systems, I will meet you with empathy and walk alongside you toward meaningful change.
Ideal clients
I specialize in working with individuals who are motivated to grow—even when they feel overwhelmed, stuck, or uncertain about where to begin. Many of my clients are navigating life transitions, trauma, anxiety, or relationship struggles and are looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to process, heal, and move forward. I connect well with people who value honesty and appreciate practical tools that lead to real, lasting change. Whether you’re learning to set boundaries, rebuild self-worth, or manage intense emotions, I offer support grounded in compassion, clarity, and a focus on meaningful progress.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
“CBT helps you notice the links between what you think, how you feel, and what you do. In therapy we’ll identify patterns of thinking that keep you stuck, test those thoughts against real-life evidence, and try small behavior changes to see what helps. You’ll learn practical tools — like keeping a brief thought record, trying out new activities, and testing assumptions — that you can use between sessions. We work together, at a pace that feels safe for you, and check progress using simple measures so you can see change over time.”
