Hello! I'm Karen Weaver. I'm a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) and have been practicing for over 10 years. Life can be challenging at times and we can all benefit from some support. My focus in working together is to assist you in becoming your best self. That could be anything from managing anxiety and stress better, to overcoming past challenges or getting along better with family or friends.
Our first session will help us get to know each other. We will also discuss the challenges you are facing and set some tangible goals to work towards.
Sometimes we repeat the same behaviors over and over again and it isn't helpful. I have helped many people overcome challenges by understanding the origins of their difficulties and learning new tools to overcome the challenges and live their best lives.
Life can be difficult at times. Sometimes that shows up as anxiety, depression, conflict with family, stress at work or many other ways. We can work together to gain tools and strategies that help you manage those challenges most effectively.
CBT is a great resource to explore and observe thought patterns. We can then evaluate which thoughts are fact and which are just thoughts. Then we work to change the ones that are not effective or serving you well.
You have a lot of strengths. This methodology focuses on how we can utilize your strengths to address the challenges you are facing now.
Sometimes our thought/beliefs/ideas originate from past experiences. It's helpful to explore the origin of some of the not helpful thoughts and put them in a different perspective.
