After 20 years of experience in the human services and mental health field, I've found that partnering in order to work toward healing and growth is a dynamic, engaging experience. I hope to help people who have come to a place in their life with an awareness that there is more. Therapy can be a place to sort through painful experiences, finding healing and recovery. It's truly a partnership, supporting my clients in arriving at truths and strategies that help them to reach their personal goals. As for my approach, I've found that building a trusting relationship is the foundation of effective treatment. When a therapeutic connection is formed, we can begin to use modalities of CBT, DBT, and trauma-informed approaches to help integrate painful experiences. My experiences include working with people hoping to understand their symptoms of Bipolar Disorder, OCD, Depression, and Anxiety.
My clients are provided a safe, respectful holding space to define their goals, needs, and strengths to help them reach a healthier, more effective way of moving through their world. Client will be encouraged to share their feedback, defining approaches and interventions that they find helpful.
My treatment methods are integrative, using approaches from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Trauma-informed approaches, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy. All interventions are respectful and safe, approaching this work from a Person-Centered stance.
As for my strengths, I approach my work with an open mind and a willingness to continue growing my skills, knowledge, and abilities. I have worked with an array of people, from young children to adolescents, to adults both early in their life path to those with maturity and significant life experience.
