PMHNP, 2 years of experience
Hi! I work to help find appropriate medications for adults struggling with life transitions, mood disorders, and new to mental health discuss medication options that could help improve their quality of life. I'm a Board Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC) based in California. I see a wide variety of clients and work to find the right medication combination for each on an individual basis.
In the first session we will go over some historical details and then collect more information on current concerns. In order to fully assist the client a full picture of history and current concerns is needed to create a treatment plan that is mutually agreed upon. We will discuss medications that might be helpful given current symptoms you are experiencing.
Having worked with severe mental illness from the beginning of my career and obtaining the majority of my training in that population, I've developed a large understanding of many different medications and disease courses. I have worked with minor adjustment disorders through severe schizophrenia and enjoy the entire spectrum.
I love working with client's that want to feel better and are willing and open to utilize coping skills to have the best quality of life possible. I love when client's start to believe in themselves and see treatment is working.
My experience is in medication management and supportive therapy with psychoeducation. I do not do regular talk therapy.

Amy was very straightforward, asking me clear questions about my history and my goals. Ultimately, it sounds like the kind of therapy I'm looking for isn't the kind she offers, but she was very clear about that and in her intent to make sure I found the right person to help me.
