Hello! My name is Catherine. I am a mom of 3 and I am a licensed clinical social worker. I have worked with children and adolescents for over 10 years and in working with them, i have worked with their families as well. I was previously a clinical supervisor, and I decided it was time to do what I do best, and that is help others through trauma informed care and working on self-worth and rebuilding relationships and attachments. Let's deep dive into your childhood to determine where those negative thoughts started, prove those beliefs are wrong and rebuild your new thought process while learning new coping skills. Let's focus on your strengths, not your weaknesses. Let's figure out how to get where you want to be i life, together.
Hi. I'm a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Pennsylvania. I have a PhD in Educational Psychology and a Masters degree in Music Therapy. I also got a certification in Gestalt therapy by going to a 3 year training program. Over my career I have worked with many different populations and in many different settings. My basic approach to therapy is to use the tools and techniques that I've developed to help people become unstuck and to grow and to reach toward their full potential.
I'm Shekhina, a Multiracial/Biracial Messianic Jewish Believer in Yeshua (Jesus) as my Lord and Savior, in addition to a faith-based Psychotherapist, Licensed Professional Counselor, National Certified Counselor, and Licensed Behavioral Consultant based out of Philadelphia, PA. I hold an MS from Grand Canyon University and have over 25 years of experience in counseling. I have owned and founded The Counselor's Heart Therapeutic Services since 2019. My mission is to help individuals grow in their relationship with Yeshua (Jesus), identify the root of dysfunctional behavior, and break the cycle of sin, toxic patterns, and intergenerational trauma/generational curses. People often "move forward with time, but never move on," meaning they move on with time but never move on from past hurts. I aim to help clients move forward to live productive and healthy lives, guided by their faith in God, and free from the burden of past trauma.
I approach therapy as a relational process, not a place where you come to be fixed. You’re not a problem to solve; you’re a person with a history, patterns that make sense, and a way of being in the world that developed for a reason. In our work together, we slow things down and get curious about what’s underneath the surface. I’m interested in who you are, not just what’s wrong. My goal is to create a space that feels real, thoughtful, and nonjudgmental, where you can begin to understand yourself more deeply and move toward something that feels more connected and meaningful.
I help adults work through depression, anxiety, trauma, attention and executive functioning challenges, and times of change and uncertainty—especially when they’re feeling stuck, disconnected, or relying on coping patterns that no longer serve them. I specialize in working with young adults, college students, recent graduates, and men exploring questions of identity, relationships, purpose, and direction. Clients often describe me as warm, thoughtful, and genuinely curious, appreciating both the ease of our conversations and the depth of our work. My approach is relational and insight-oriented: together, we’ll explore not only what’s causing pain today, but also the patterns and relationships that shape how you experience yourself and others.
Are you feeling isolated? Anxious? Overwhelmed? From day-to-day challenges to unexpected life-altering events, a helping hand can be that life preserver in an increasingly stressful time.
With nearly two decades of experience working in and with communities of diverse racial and ideological backgrounds, Be at Peace offers solutions that are practical and applicable. I require a free 15 minute phone consultation before the intake to see if we are a good therapeutic fit.

Born and raised in the inner city by a single mother and a large extended family, I noticed the needs of those that were mentally or physically diagnosed were often not met. Therefore, I began to inquire about what I needed to do in order to be a part of the solution. I began to work in the field and I have worked in Behavioral/Mental Health for close to 20 years. My experience covers a plethora of ages and diagnosis across many settings. My determination to treat and support those with mental health diagnosis during the pandemic inspired me to perform outpatient therapy via telehealth to adults and adolescents. I specialize in adults 25-55 with various diagnoses but primarily Anxiety, PTSD, trauma and Depression to name a few. I love to utilize CBT, CPT, trauma informed care (TIC) and Motivational Interviewing as treatment modalities.
As a dedicated Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) specializing in trauma therapy, I am committed to providing compassionate and culturally sensitive counseling to individuals, families and couples. With a deep understanding of the impact of trauma on mental health, I empower my clients to heal and thrive. I am aware how important insight into self is in order to grow.

My own lived experience with neurodivergence and chronic illness greatly inform my practice. I use a compassionate, person-centered approach that is solution focused; I seek to incorporate creativity, mind-body connection, and unconditional positive regard in our work together. One can expect to gain psychoeducation, coping skills, and distress tolerance skills to meet one's goals and reach the place one hopes to be. It is my goal to create a space for individuals that is laid back, safe, silly, and affirming so that clients may show up as their full, authentic self. I hope that one leaves our sessions feeling grounded, witnessed, and a lot less alone.
Welcome!
Congratulations on taking the courageous first step of seeking out a therapist. It is an act of bravery and courage to explore what is impacting you or your child. I am a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) and have worked as a therapist treating adults in individual and group therapy for 4 years. I specialize in anxiety, grief, and trauma. My approach includes therapies like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Prolonged Exposure, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, Narriative Therapy, and Gestalt Therapy. I'm always looking to expand my approach to best support my clients. My experience has been with community mental heath, two CIRC programs, and providing short term grief therapy at the Medical Examiner's office. Each of these have provided me with greater understanding of the system of care of Philadelphia and the reality of navigating it especially when resources can be nonexistent for housing or other basic needs. My specialities in grief and trauma are two sides of the same coin - intense loss can be traumatic. This philosophy is central to how I approach supporting clients in their journey. Both need to be address to help the healing really start.
