Hi, I am Diane Smith, a licensed practicing counselor, in Pennsylvania. Congratulations for making the decision to do therapy. I have worked in clinical counseling psychology for 14 years. I love to help people achieve their goals. We all go through difficult times and I am trained to help people overcome obstacles. Together we can work on the issues that are holding you back. It doesn't matter if it's anxiety, depression, you're burned out, poor boundaries, OCD, addictions, relationship issues, grief, and loss you name it we can handle it. You deserve to live your best life. If you are new to therapy don't worry. It's like talking to a good friend who is legally bound to not share a word you say. There are 3 reasons when I am legally bound to report, since I am a mandated reporter, 1. You threaten to kill the president 2. You threaten to harm yourself. 3. You threaten to harm someone else. Also, you won't be judged for anything you tell me. People do what they do for many reasons. Most of my clients say that I am very easy to talk to and that they feel safe sharing with me. I hope that you give me a shot! I look forward to going on a journey with you. FYI*** Please give 24 hours advanced notice if you can not attend an appointment or you will be charged $50.00 Also, If you do not show up for an appointment you will be charged $50.00 as well. I only get my hourly fee if I meet with the client for the allotted time. If the client does not show I don't get paid. Thanks for your time, Diane Smith

Welcome! My name is Evan Miller and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and psychotherapist in the state of Pennsylvania. The goal of therapy is to facilitate personal growth and help you improve your life. I believe there is no one-size-fits all approach to therapy, so this can take many shapes and forms depending on your needs. Whether you're looking to build self-awareness, strengthen your relationships, change your unwanted habits, better manage your stress or just feel better emotionally - I am here to help! I consider the therapeutic relationship to be fundamental to all forms of good therapy, so I continually strive to create an environment that is supportive, safe, authentic, comfortable and non-judgmental. While I have specialized training in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (M.I.) and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) for OCD, I utilize a person-centered and integrative approach that also incorporates elements of attachment theory, existential-humanistic theory and harm reduction philosophy.

I’ve worked with a variety of clients that have experienced anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, codependency, PTSD, substance abuse/addiction, anger management, marital/relationship issues, grief and loss, trauma & abuse, stress management and OCD. I primarily use a solution focused approach, focusing on your goals, and helping you grow through increasing awareness and insight into your concerns. I utilize components of different styles of therapy including CBT, solution focused, mindfulness and other techniques as well.

I have worked in the treatment since i was 36 and have 35 years of experience. My early experience was in the drug and alcohol and relapse prevention field. During that time i attended the Gestalt Institute in Cleveland, Ohio where I took 4 years of intense training. This lead me to find that therapy is not a method for me to figure out the client but a means for the client to gain greater self-awareness in facing their own life aspirations and struggles. I place focus on clients’ somatic awareness, especially breath, so being more in their body so they can try on new physical and intellectual styles in facing their world. I have a lot of knowledge about what is called the 12 step process and have melded together spirituality and religion in my own life. Prior to being a counselor/ therapist i taught school, painted steel bridges and other structures, and was a machinist at a large steel company, that like the many in our area have since closed their shops.

Therapy gives people the opportunity to develop effective and healthy responses to life's stressors. I work to create a safe holding environment to allow you to feel comfortable being yourself. I work with clients to help them develop a deeper awareness regarding their behaviors, thoughts, patterns, and feelings. I like to get to the source rather than just focus on the symptoms. I work with adults dealing with anxiety, depression, addiction, relationship stress, parenting, ADHD, identity exploration, assertive communication, self-esteem, and grief. We will work at your pace. It's about progress, not perfection. I work with you to help you empower yourself. Asking for help or support can be scary. Making the decision to begin therapy takes a great deal of strength. I offer free 15 minute phone consultations. In order to have a free consultation you may call me at 717-322-2102 or you may email me at larkin19@protonmail.com. You are in charge of who you want to work with. Reach each out if you would like to explore working together.
